ARPD Forum Updates
« on: February 19, 2011, 04:01:41 am »
As of yesterday and today, MrTrane and myself have been working very hard on fixing the boards, permissions, and other various bugs here on ARPD forums. Thanks to Gandalf, MrTrane gained access to administrative rights which now allow him to access previously inaccessible admin panel sections.

With that announcement comes my real reason for making this post. As of today, I have gone through and fixed all the broken, bugged, missing, and extra permissions for each and every rank. Some ranks were missing rights, and others had ones they definitely shouldn't of had, (such as one Officer rank having administrative rights). This has since been fixed, and for those in Leadership and Command Staff, the dummy ranks of "Warning System Access" and "Forum Maintenance" are no longer needed. From this point forward, all ranks should have the correct rights and permissions to their respective boards and abilities. If anyone runs across any bugs, or see that something is missing or doesn't belong, please reply below so we can make note of it.

LEADERSHIP/COMMAND STAFF: Please use the appropriate, hidden board above the Recycle Bin if you have access to it instead of posting here.

It's stickied so users have a place to continue reporting current and future issues. Not everyone can see the Forum Maintenance board.

Thanks to the guys that were fixing and updating everything.

I was just wondering about the forum ranks - are the blocks we see now here to stay?

Oh! Well, for the time being they are. They may change a little, but until MrTrane is granted FTP access, we can't upload anything different.

P.S. Thanks Jenn.

Ahh, alright.

And yea, the little squares for forum ranks to put it simply. ;)

The server owners and admins are changing the permissions system once again to a more simplified system to prevent further future issues, as well as lock down some other features to prevent common abuses and mistakes, so hang tight while things are updated.

Hello,

I would want to report a bug.
Many weeks ago, I've noticed this bug and just today
I read for the first time this topic regarding bugs within the forum etc.

The bug is:

Many weeks ago, when the forum went under maintenance, some things were modified / fixed
but I noticed the button (visible in the image) disappeared.
That button allowed us to adjust the size of the writing board.
Currently we're not able to adjust it, I would like if that button came back.
Signed,

Lieutenant Marco 'iMarkz' Maserati.

Doesn't seem to be a forum thing seems to be a Computer thing to me... You should have a Bar to scroll after you run out or page... Just keep typing it wont end for awhile.

That depends on what your internet browser is. All of them are different.

He's actually right. I informed Trane who put it on his list of things to do, but it's not that important right now.

It's a board setting that likely got changed by mistake, or by a change in the skin.

What you're talking about it's not what I meant.
I think it's not a browser problem.
I am using Mozilla Firefox for a lot of months and that button was there,
after the server went under maintenance it disappeared.
If someone could re-add that one, I would appreciate it.
Thank you.

Have you tried, adding a bunch of words, and then the scroll bar will appear.

A weird bug hit the forums where allot of recent topics and posts moved to the Recycle Bin, I'm currently working on it and restoring them all, there is no need to worry as we arleady had took our ways to such situation and we are able to restore any topics and posts back to their original positions.
