Notice To Users Regarding Reporting Topics/Posts

(1/1)

Chief J. Schappell:

NOTICE TO USERS: REPORTING TOPICS/POSTS

This one is obviously becoming an issue, so I think it's time to post about it.

For those of you that have been using the moderation system to report topics/posts, please note that this is only for reporting topics with bad, malicious, provoking/flaming, or spam content, or for individual posts containing such. It is not meant to be used for reporting outdated topics or incorrect information.

If information is missing or correct, private message the topic/post creator or someone with a high moderation/administrator ranking in the section it is contained in. This system's concept is not hard to understand, so please don't abuse it.

Any further reports on outdated information will be disregarded and closed without notification or warning. Again, if the topic has missing or outdated information, contact the author or someone with the rights to change/update it.

Chief J. Schappell:
Let me reiterate since this appears to still be a big issue:

Reporting posts is not for requesting information to be removed, (unless obviously malicious). We aren't here to remove your name from a post, or hide personal information that you posted yourself. Please use the PM system to contact an Administrator to have those things done. The Report System is only meant for malicious posts and the like.

If you need a list of Administrators to contact via PM regarding non-malicious post edits, please check here:

Chief J. Schappell:
This is a bump because I'm seeing an increase in this again. Remember people, you can always PM someone if your issue is related to RP situations or typos. Reporting to a moderator is meant for malicious posts, etc.
