Title: Forums and server down?

I tried the whole day to login into the server, and connect to the forums.
maybe it's only me, but is the server down? and the forums either?

Yes Argonath RPG is down. But hopefully not for long I hope they solve any problems they come across with the dedicated server.

We are well aware that the server is down along with forums, Team Speak and other components. We are waiting for the owners to solve the problem for us all!

Hmm, just came out of school, but i gtg work in 5min untill 19:00.

It's because the SA:MP client is bugged and do not always show offline servers.

Hello,

I have done some research on argonathrpg.eu.
argonathrpg.eu ns servers look like there down. there ns servers are:
how ever domaincontrol.com looks like it is down. thats why argonathrpg.eu is down.

Well i bet your asking why isnt argonathrpg.com down and its subdomains, well here are argonathrpg.com name servers:
and dreamhost.com is up.

Theres a little explanation why argonath is down.

i am not a owner, so there could be a reason another reason why it is down. we will have to wait until owners get it up and running.

People i made a few tips for what you can do when argo is down


Tip 1. Do homework
Tip 2. Get a Girlfriend/boyfriend ( if you already have one Spend time with him/her )
Tip 3. Annoy Vince just for the fun of it
Tip 4. Donate 100 Million Euro to argo so this can create there own game compleetly free from GTA and SAMP so it won't go down ever again
Tip 5. Get a Life
Tip 6. if you already have a life then use your life
Tip 7. Bug your parrents to go to a Amusement park
Tip 8. Go to a Amusement park
Tip 9. Get a job
Tip 10. Turn the Viritual world and the real world upside down that makes you think the real live is argo and play it !!
Tip 11. Make a wierd machine to Traffel true time so you don't have to wait for argo or trafel back in time so it wil never happen
Tip 12. Make a Super Server that argo can use that wil never ever crash
Tip 13. Don't spend all your time waiting on the forum for argo
Tip 14. Don't make Wierd tips while you have nothing to do
Tip 15. Making Tips is a good way to spend time but most people wil just find it boring
Tip 16. Learn your English Gramma better ( thats where i have allot of problems with )
Tip 17. Go see a rehab Clinic to not be addictive to argo anymore
Tip 18. Go play another SAMP Game that is not related to argo
Tip 19. Go Play VC-MP
Tip 20. Go play MTA-SA
Tip 21. Go Play MTA-VC
Tip 22. Think about your life and what you wil do without argonath

Buggery, wanted to play last night and I knew the forum and game were run on the same server! Oh and the forum has 404d'ed they're probably shutting it down temporarily to figure out what's wrong :). Thanks to the Argo staff!

We had 30C yesterday, which is rare, especially outside of Summer. We're not in a place where the temperature is high because of an O-zone hole caused by barbecues...

Anyway, I like our climate. It's comfortable, and you can go and enjoy yourself without being crippled by heat.

What does that mean? That it maybe will come back at today 12.00 in Europe?
I live in The Netherlands so can someone explain too me what it means and what will happen if its not back at the estameted time?

As far as I know, there was a hacker online on the server when no administrators online. And then some regulars began to annoy that kid, so he logged off. Two minutes later the whole server was down, including Paruni, forum, TS and the other things.

I do too, and it's not the hacker thing... I won't of course say it but if someone else is thinking similar they will know.

A lot of hackers choose more populated servers (200 +) where you can achieve a goal in a quick amount of time and easily. Argonath does not take lightly to hackers. In fact, here's a story I intended to write on the main forums about the hacker, but obviously they're down so I didn't get to write it...

20th March 2010. 8:00 CET.
A guy joined using the name "sim_sandas". I was busy trying to take out a couple of suspects, when I saw on main chat "HACKER ID 22!!!!"
Shit, I thought. I quickly did /admins to see if any of our dedicated, hard working admin team were present - none were online. I ceased chasing the suspects and alt tabbed to check MSN.
Curses! None online! I asked SugarD if any were online for him, and the response was negative. I sighed a sigh when you know there's a long road ahead of you. I knew the task. We had to kill the hacker. We had to make him reailse his hacks were worthless to the heart of Argonath, make him realise he could not beat a server full of dedicated RPers who despised and hated every hacker who set foot in their land. I knew it could be accomplished. Memories flooded back to me of Aragorn telling stories back in 2007 of him and Gandalf being forced to kill hackers in their earlier MTA:VC Careers - I knew this could be done.
I quickly finished off my suspects and alt tabbed once more to check for admins - none. I checked the ARPD & main forums, and to my short-lived relief, there was an admin browsing both forums! I rushed to send him a PM on both forums... to no avail.
I alt tabbed back in and found that a 10k reward was being offered to whoever killed him. I quickly realised what had to be done. I went to LSPD, I duty'ed. I didn't even bother with equipping myself with armour or heavy weaponry. I left the garage on a police bike and went to find the hacker airbreaking outside City Hall. This was going to be harder than previously thought. I stepped off my bike and seized a moment to try and pepper spray him - he stopped!
This didn't last long - he quickly air breaked to under the map! God damn! After 10 seconds he came back up. A number of players began spraying him with bullets, which had no effect whatsoever. After a few more airbreak incidents, I decided to try my luck - I pulled out my SMG, loaded with bullets. I took aim at my prized suspect, and shot 20 bullets into him. His flesh was penetrated. I had succeeded! He was down! He died! We all rejoiced to the fact that we, collectively, killed a HP/carhp/airbreak/teleport/speed hacker without the help of any admin intervention! And nobody at that moment knew the absolute pride I had running through my veins at the moment. All of my years in the SAPD, all of my months in SWAT, every time I went after a suspect, had finally paid off. I did a deed that saved the server, even if only temporarily, from a hacker.
Fast Forward 10 minutes later - he's back at LSPD. He had a moment of weakness and somebody took a shot at him - it killed him. He left. There was much rejoice and praise for those brave warriors who looked the enemy in the eye and said "I can do this. I can kill an invincible enemy." This is the true Argonath spirit, members not giving a shit about money, not caring about how many bullets they waste, but only caring about coming together and having a good time - yes, it was a hacker, but hell, we had a damn good time beating him.
Remember this story next time you go ingame - the Argonath community is not gone, the Argonath community has not had any set backs or failures, all we need is some large events that can and will get us all together on the one side fighting for the one cause - be it cops, criminals, drivers, medics, whatever. When something like this happens, we all realise who we are - we are Argonath RPG! And we TAKE NO HACKER PRISONERS!

Løypa inneheld både hopp og reipeløkkje. To omgangar vart gjennomførde med godt humør, skriv Voss Telemarklag i ei pressemelding. Dei skriv vidare at rennet hadde eit passeleg uformelt preg og med ei særs manuell tidtaking, og utan portvakter vart stemninga slik den skal vera i eit påskerenn. Rennet vart avvikla i Tråstølen.Vossameisteren i damer Junior vart Tuva Heide Nedkvitne, medan Marit Norheim Olde vann damer senior. Meisteren i herrar senior vart Tor Inge Hopsdal. Det var ingen deltakarar i herrar junior. Totalt 26 deltakarar stilte til start.Voss telemarklag har i fleire år lege dødt. Men i fjor ynskte nokre eldsjeler at det måtte blåsast nytt liv i telemarkslaget. Dermed vart den gamle tradisjonen om å  arrangera vossameisterskap i telemark onsdagen før skjertorsdag teken opp att i fjor. Det var vanleg før at me avvikla rennet onsdagen før skjærtorsdag, fortel styremedlem i Voss telemarklag, Ståle Bjørgo. I can tell that the downtime is not because of a hacker. All data is safe. However there is no direct estimate as when things will be back up, and at this time we have to be patient.

I am just taking a guess, but about the Ads that are present on the Main site, do produce an amount of money for the Owners to use, so (If I am right) Clicking on an advertisement will be seen as ''being interested'' in the commercial, now if alot of people click on the advertisement (That doesn't mean actually buying or looking at it) will make the site a good place to advertise and make advertisers be more motivated to place an ad, giving owners money... Thats just my view of it, ofcourse owners arent gonna say ''click the ad'' because that will only decrease the chance of it being clicked... My conclusion... Click the ad to support Argonath... Not sure if it will help and not sure if this is actually a good idea, but it's AN idea...

Yo think of it this way, Maybe owners purpously made the server crash so that we will donate money to them. Think about it, They have this website conviniently made to update us on the server problem. What do all the news stories on that site talk about? one thing, Giving the server money, either through Donations or Advertising Space. They also said that we need to "Support" the community and give money etc. I dont know, it alls seems really planned out to me and i know by looking at the dontations that the server falls short every month. Maybe they are trapping all the players so that we have to donate in order to get the server back?

This is all just fun theories i made up from observations, and im not serious about it, but it did pop into my mind ;)

well.....that's not what i'm thinking of but cool story, it COULD be possible but i dont know, and what i meant is that...
what if Gandalf just closed the forums and server down? this is how it starts, taking Argo away little by little, closing Argo forums and server, but leaving ARPD, ARFD, FBI forums etc... all those open for some time, then in a few weeks he might close the ARFD forums, and little by little he will close everything, and just delete all the files of Argo on his PC. he might be closing the community forever, but to not make it hard for us, he is leaving us with the ARPD and the rest of forums, and he left us with a "TEMPORARILY" server that "supposably" laggs by the posts i see, and by the lagg making the players frustrated and bored that they will want to soon leave, and forget all about Argonath, if this is possible then we might never play Argonath RPG ever again, there is lot's of reasons why Gandalf could be doing this,
1. it costs a lot of money
2. the players B!TCH LIKE DOGS! about everything and this frustrates Gandalf
3. all you want is Scripts, scripts and scripts! that's all you ask for and Gandalf feels like he has too much work, (i know CBF and David do the scripting but it still concerns Gandalf and Aragorn.)
4. Gandalf probably doesn't want to keep going with this community.
5. there is a possibility that something bad happened to Gandalf or Aragorn IRL.

I didn't mean it that way; I know what communism is and I know it's not some batshit insane ideology where millions of people die from it being implimented, it was more of a joke relating to when he left ARPD to join some chinese communist group.
