Title: Board Request
Post by: RoryAnstruther on June 07, 2010, 22:28:32 pm
Requesting removal of the "Temporary Leaving" thread, and just allowing everyone to make a leave topic, with the appropriate title.

No one pays attention to that temporary leaving thread. I posted that I was on leave, and almost got terminated from SWAT, and had several people asking me where I have been, when I posted my leave in that thread.

So to delete the confusion and to make sure EVERYONE is covered when they post leave, I request that thread is locked/moved/deleted, as it serves no purpose, as everyone who should be checking who's on leave, isn't checking that topic.

Everyone just checks for an actual thread from the person, instead of digging through the last 4-5 pages trying to see if they posted a temporary notice.

Interesting proposal, but it will cause mass amounts of flood throughout the board.. meaning if all the people who are posting in the 17 page temporary leave topic make their own... :devroll:

Create a child board called Temporary Leaving? or, make them add tags on their thread title "[TEMP]"

Basically the issue is having one thread with many replies. You have to purposely dig through 2 or 3 pages just to look for one person.

Okay I looked into the issue a little and I think it's the responsibility of the leaders of SAPD, SWAT, etc to check this topic if they notice inactivity in any of their units. I agree with Vince that it'd cause quite a bit of unnecessary spam...Posting in the temporary topic is fine, and unless we do get a Temp. Leaving board up, it'll stay that way.

Locked.
