Title: APB All Points Bulletin
Post by: Jcstodds on July 03, 2010, 14:29:47 pm

First of all I apologise if this is a repeat threat, but after a swift search I could not find a similar one.

I just bought this game and it looks pretty awesome. I have not yet installed it and am just wondering if anyone from SAPD will be playing this, what world they are in etc...

I will probably have more idea once I install it :D  but anyway, my alias will be Jcstodds as always.

I was in the beta..

Why I will NOT be buying it, is the reason that the Action Distric = the public world... is going to have a set of like 60-80 hours up-on account registration / when you buy the game, then you will have to buy hours-package to play on it..

Payment like on WoW, but this will be counted as in hours and not in days..

But overall yes, game is really nice

If I am not wrong, [i9]Jimmy_Cuneo already has it :P from argo :P

Edit: the near local store which sells it, states it has 50 hours, and that to buy another hour package, you need a credit card.... source says apb.com :/

Edit: here's a link for more info about payment..

No it isn't, anyone who says you have to pay in hours has been told this by an idiot or has read it incorrectly first hand and is, therefore, equally that. You can pay in hours or months, I wish people wouldn't stop reading at the hours bit.

Yes, to continue subscription you need to pay online as with any other MMO except for the few that are established with gamecards.

No, it was never supposed to be free.
As above, anyone who says this has been told by an idiot or has read it incorrectly first hand and is, therefore, equally that.
They never said it would be free to play, that was totally made up by people with no money and an expectation of a free lunch.

James will be playing it.

Apparently not, or so I hear.

For anyone who was able to actually gather the correct information and might play it, go for the Patriot (EU2) server if you're in the EU, make an enforcer, and await destruction at the hands of Araatus.. just like old times.

Haha, yeah I know. He invited to join his elite group, however I was denied after my application as Proffesor Doc. I think it was something along the lines of "too mentally unstable".

To be honest if I play for 50 hours and want to play more I will gladly pay a few quid. Chances are though I will get bored of it before then.

Its just a cops and robbers MMO. No RP, just wait for someone to commit a crime, and shoot them.

Oh trust me, there will be RP :D

ANyway I'm on Patriot server world (number 2) or something like that.

1st impressions are that the car handling is absolute shit, as with the damage engine and overall movement. Feels like driver 2 - except driver 2 had better car detail, damage and car handling.

Currently I'm going around as "TheSheriff", a fat bald mean looking cop. BUT THEY DO NOT HAVE COW BOY HATS. Moron game. Car customisation is fun though :D

Sounds good to me.

BUT THEY DO NOT HAVE COW BOY HATS.

But they will at some point when they add stuff D::.

Incidentally, if I see you I will ram you. :3

I can handle (most of some of) the cars, you just need to get used to it. ;)

I heard from a RELIABLE SOURCE HURR DURR that the game sucks. Especially the carhandling and animations. Is this true?

Carhandling is absolutely terrible. Car slides about and its troublesome to simply go straight. The animations are just a little better than San Andreas but not by much.

Many have compared this game to GTAIV by saying it is very similar or a totally different game. The actual game itself has less attention to detail than GTAIII. Customization is fun though, and there seems to be an ongoing development by the developers.

I was in the BETA. Believe me, everyone was driving like there just exploded a nuke somewhere. They were driving in the middle of the road, ramming everything on it's path. Why? Because of the shitty handling. That's mainly why I hate this game. The customization is really awesome, as you can create anything you want, same for your apparel. Anyway I have a feeling people will start, - Just like World of Warcraft, developing their own servers and there will be tons of private servers. Anyhow, maybe Realtime World decides to fire the guy who programmed the crappy handling and finally fixes it so people could drive normal and not as a 80-year old grandpa.

When that happens, I'll play.

Car handling is not the best, but it isn't really that bad once you get used to it. In fact, I can drive for several minutes at full speed without hitting a single thing, something which I cannot claim to be able to do on SA.
I dunno what you mean by "animations". They can be bad or not bad. In this case, not bad.

As for any reviewer or anyone who says the shooting is bad, they're clearly an idiot so disregard them.
