A $15,000,00 fine?!
From an unban request;
then did /s1. I pulled over. He said "you were speeding, 15k fine or jail" I found this very unfair because I was in a rush to deliver my car. I didnt want to go to jail, I also know the

15K is 60x expensive from the limit, $250.

But is it allowed, you calculator :D?
-
As far as I know, yes. Since they don't have to follow ARPD regulations

You need Gandalf to come here in this topic and repeat for the thousandth time that freecops are only bound by the server rules?
-
Or pick the jail instead. You will only loose 200$
-
People, this question is the same like.... Do the freecops allowed to /su for wearing red pants?
The answer is NO, they are not allowed to abuse any police privileges. This is a server rule!
When the freecop wrote a ticket about 15k, he commited abusing police powers and you have the right to report him to an admin. The best solution if you find a friendly way to talk with the freecop, and you make him know the server rules and police producers. (max amount of ticket 250$)

Since when that is a server rule? That's only within ARPD to my knowledge. It's just ridiculous to make freecops come to ARPD and read a whole topic so they can play without getting warned/kicked/copbanned/banned.
-
To be honest, I think freecops should learn as they go on.
If they make a ridiculous fine such as this then a player should explain to them that it is not a reasonable figure to pay in Argonath, and request that they change it.
I do not think it is right that freecops are not governed completely by the ARPD, because they are still part of the police force/service, and should know how to do the job correctly, up to a certain extent.
When they go on duty, there could be a few notices on the chat which tell them some important information, such as keeping things reasonable, sto stop incidents such as this.
-
Freecops are applicants too.
miniman is right.
-
It's ridiculous let freecops do such fine, the limit is ok.

Not all are

Could something be put on the chat like "By going on-duty, you are agreeing with the rules and laws on arpd.argonathrpg.com(/forum). Failing to follow these rules could ultimately mean a cop-ban."
This would cover us, so freecops could be punished without them saying "I didn't know you couldn't", as bygoing on-duty they are telling us they read the laws.

Cop bans are only for breach of Server Rules not ARPD Rules

I agree with this idea so that way all police will know the laws and how to treat certain situations.
-
So it is allowed?
-
I'd rather die.. then its only 1k
-
Dont expect me to go nice on anyone that tries to fine for 15k...
-
Freecops are humans, just SOME of those humans are not aware of the minimum ticket amount and it needs to be teached to them! Restricting them from almost everything just keeps up the freecop racism and judging! EVERYONE is equal.. There is no ''freecops are bad'' there is ''some new players who are not well known with the server rules MAY abuse their rights..''!!
Put yourself in the skin of a guy who just joined the server.. You want to get to know the server.. You ask how you can go on cop duty.. After someone was nice enough to help you, you go on duty.. The guy explains you the commands.. You go in a copcar and you see someone driving on the street, speeding, reckless driving, etc. You suspect them for ''SPEEDING'' because the guy explained that to you.. you step out and tell him to give you a 15K fine, he doesn't pay you, starts to become angry, calls you an abuser and threats you with reporting.. And then you shoot him because he is taunting you and he doesn't want to pay the fine.. And you get copbanned by admins and thrown in admin jail for 500 seconds.. Would you stay in the server?!!? I wouldn't!
-
AFAIK, it's allowed because freecops don't have to follow the ARPD's rules and regulations.

Well maybe they should be for ARPD laws as well :)

Listen to me clearly, If a freecop Issues you a $15,000 dollar fine simply refuse to pay it. You will be suspected then you request an investigation and if needed call an Officer, Senior Officer, or Sergeant to do that Investigation. They will most likely issue you a lower fine and have you unsuspected.
