Last time I checked this is the ARPD forum... FBI members, and the FBI is apart of the ARPD.

To Mr. Moose: Will the SAPD be choosing 7 of its members to represent all law enforcement agencies?

No, SAPD will be given 7 Spots, and FBI the remaining 3, They will not represent only their agency, but all the citizens that requires their help.

You should only choose people that are not biased at all so people like Giac are out of the question.

Anyone who has ever said 'moaning criminal' wouldn't really be a good, non-biased attorney.

Indeed, all Giac was trying to do was provide the correct translation of the Law, Gandalf took it as a sign that Giac was biased towards the cops in the case. Which I'm sure he wasn't.

 :devroll:

Okay, let's see... who here is a non-criminal/cop biased person who is willing to be fair no matter what the circumstance?

From what I'm going to guess, the matter is not being "biased", because as an attorney you are there to represent "the people" (being the police) against whoever is being sued. As well as to prove to the judge that the police are indeed correct on their actions against the defendant?

And the problem all of you are bringing up is that almost all of the judges have roles in law enforcement and you feel that whether or not the 7 attorneys here are good at what they do, the judges will rule that "the people" are correct; this giving the defendant no chance at winning a case whether or not they are right or wrong and are suing/being sued?

As soon as these questions are answered by a variety of people, I can make a nice little list based on those who seem to be motivated to do it.. including other factors such as activity.

That "reformation" did not contain any important changes.
State attorneys could have been implemented much earlier, but what's the point in bringing them in? Creating another useless rank, just like "official lawyer"? How often are there investigations carried out? How many cops investigate on a daily basis?

Besides, what do you expect to achieve with those attorneys? Increase maximum jail sentence from 3 minutes to 10? :rules:

Actually no, If you have a role in the Court, you may not be an attorney / official Lawyer.

I'm a supreme judge, therefor i cannot be an FBI State Attorney, nor i can defend anyone in any case of the Court. (I can't be a legal representator)

Really what does it matter, you cannot stamp out bias completely. Players can RP a judge, RP a lawyer, what does it matter? Louis and Jaskaa are FBI no? Still it does not mean they are biased. Same with ARPD, same with civilian judges and lawyers. It is simply another RP role. There are enough judges and lawyers so that their roles do not clash.

There's nothing against having different role-play roles, however, just as an example, the FBI disallows having different characters.  :rules:
Now, I don't care if some judges are biased. Conflicts of interests don't bother me at all. They only make the court look more retarded than usual.

Point is not about biased whatsoever ... Everyone is biased into every of his daily decisions in this world so ....

The point is that on some unique case a citizen or a cop must be represented by  the state to legitimate actions taken by the state otherwise it would be quiet useless for people to have to pay for a lawyer to present accusations in court into which cops have answered.

The role of attorneys is to offer the support to those people into getting the criminals convincted for the very crime that is being presented. Those persons do not have to take decisions or anything, they just have to be able to present the case in a suitable way in front of a court. Now a biased person who would take the side of the criminal would actualy reveal as quiet obvious. But don't forget that there are also bad lawyers and that the lawyer of that criminal might be better...

In any case if you are not a part of the solution, then you are a part of the problem.

One last thing I will say into this ... The cop and the criminal are not ennemies, they are just two persons who chose different paths.
