Title: Regarding 'ARPD Officers'
Post by: Julio. on October 13, 2010, 18:36:35 pm
In my opinion, a freecop is an SAPD officer, and the 'officer' is a accepted ARPD member.

My reasoning is: The term 'ARPD' suggests that they have been accepted into the main force, whereas 'SAPD' suggests they are a police officer, but not accepted by ARPD yet.

ARPD - SAPD, VCPD and others.

SAPD - LSPD, DPD, LVPD, SFPD.

Difference:ARPD-Means that on what ever server you go(SA:MP, VC:MP, MTA:VC etc) and go on Cop duty, you will always be ARPD, because SAPD is DIFFERENT.
SAPD-Only the police of San Andreas, LSPD, SFPD, LVPD, DPD.
So basically if you are a SAPD Officer, you only belong to SAPD not VCPD.
If you are a ARPD OFFICER, you belong to every department but as a FREECOP.

It avoids confusion between the servers. But yes, logically what you mean would make a bit more sense.

ARPD = The whole arrgonath Police force, which includes all servers police and such..

SAPD = San Andreas police force, which is only the police department for the San Andreas game, in Vice city they are called VCPD..

So when you add all the ARGO servers together all its police force, they form whats called ARPD and that WHO the freecops represent...

MY INGAME NAME IS [SAPD]Antony that means that i can work on any police agency throughout the entire san andreas state. \\Is it a bad idea to have my name like that or i can have it?

Both arguments make perfect sense to me :D

The thing I thought about was the conflict between ARPD Officers and SAPD Officers (The officer thing) but the way to prove yourself, if you are an SAPD Officer, is to do the best patrols, RP correctly, chase skilfully while performing specific maneouvres, and be accurate with your weapons.

That is the same for our beloved ARPD Officers. Make yourselves known as good cops in the community (as I did when I first came on Argonath, as MINIMAN622) and you can't go far wrong.

This may not make sense (because i tend to "ramble") but it means something to me :)

Signed,
DPD Officer Ben Deleon - The Miniman (=AV=Ben_Deleon)

As everyone has said.

SAPD is our cities police departments: LS, SF, LV and D

ARPD is the collective Argonath police agencies.

System itself is somewhat confusing. ARPD, SAPD, it's just a name, really.

It may cause some trouble, looking at certain groups.
"What is your rank?" is the question. I see people putting "Officer", and now wonder which one they mean :L

That's what we have the different Police Colors and the Forum Rank for. ;)

We use officer (in my opinion) as a generalization of being in the police force. We go, "Hello I am officer WhatsMyFace and do-" etc... Because we don't like to go I am ARPD Officer, SAPD Officer etc etc. Of course those who have different ranks also use those ranks like Snr. Officer and so on.

Hit the nail on the head (metaphorically speaking of course) :D

I like it cause now everyone can be called Officer, and there is a distinct difference from ARPD and SAPD officers in the colour for those who want to be higher up.

Who here would support me if I suggested an idea which, similar o undercover rights, but gives you a freecop colour icon, so criminals do not know you have an SMG. Then BOOM. :)

Well, I guess if you say that you are part of the ARPD, you would be saying that you are officially ranked here, and a current member.
Whereas, if you say you are part of the SAPD, though that can suggest that you belong to the official ARPD, but may also just be a freecop currently.
