What is a Sheriff?
The Sheriffs of SAPD are the country cops. The countryside can be rough and dangerous and so are its people. Like all SAPD officers, the Sheriffs are trained in all procedures, conduct and codes. However the Sheriffs are expected to take roleplay to a higher level.
As a Sheriff your priority is not to chase down orange dots, it is not to process the most criminals in the jails. It is to protect the civilians, make sure the state is safe and show that you are working for the good of your towns people. You need to have good communication with the other PD's, imagination with how to deal with criminals and most of all you need to have a brain. Sheriffs are not clones who can be replaced easily, we would rather let a criminal go and survive to fight another day than to die a meaningless death.
The lands are sparsely populated so the locals will get to know you, and you to know them. And they will know how good you can be, or how badass you can be, depending on their situation!
Roleplay standards
All roleplay should be FUN and FAIR.
As a Sheriff you should role play as much as you can. Of course there will be plenty of shootouts too, but that is only half the fun. Every criminal has their story and it is your job to judge them. If you didn't see it for yourself, didn't find any witnesses and their story makes sense - then believe them.
Because you have a brain, you know that an orange name does not always mean they are guilty. Even with murders. Use your brain to think of a suitable punishment. Get it out of your head that "they su for murder they must go to jail" - this is nonsense. Sheriff has country justice to deliver and must decide for himself whether they are guilty with investigation, not let orange name decide.
Orange does not always mean guilty. White name does not always mean innocent.
The jails are full
Unfortunately, there are lots of criminals and our jails are full or broken. One of the great things about being a Sheriff is the many different ways you can punish the criminals. All Sheriffs are expected to deal roleplay punishments that are suitable for the crime at hand and should only use the jails if the suspect demands it. Use your imagination. If the punishment is fun and fair, the criminal will be more than happy to go along with it. /cancelsuspect can be used for any roleplay punishment regardless of the crime.
Training and Patrols
Whilst Sheriffs are expected to know and understand all SAPD protocals and procedures sometimes they have to be bent a little to accommodate fun roleplay. Sheriff departments are built upon a balance of teamwork, fun and efficiency. We still aim to be effective in catching criminals just with more roleplay involved where it can be.
To accomplish this, Sheriff training usually has a fun twist but has very real benefits and exercises as any training should.
Aside from organised patrols used to sweep the countryside and respond to suspects, patrols can take many shapes and forms, changing for different purposes and different situations.

Any relevant Sheriff experience: Was in DPD when it opened in 2009 (I made the logo :P ), and worked with APD to help restart it untill the lockdown happened.

Myself and Deejay have been assigned by Paul to do Sheriff trainings which will have an influence directly on your SAPD application (if applying to Sheriff PD's). If you post here we can see who is actually intending on being a Sheriff so we can report the trainings on their applications.

I don't have application but I was former BCPD member (noted in second pending list). Can I still apply and receive trainings as a Sheriff?

Actually I have no clue what's going here for the moment. I guess you have to do an application first then apply here to recieve it.

Any relevant Sheriff experience: I focus more on roleplay since I am a former member of BCPD, like as you said, it's not about orange dots, and I totally agree. It doesn't matter if you roleplay alone. It's not about being watched. It's about what you can give to the SAPD.. I also improved the image of the Bone County Police Department, by being the first one who got honoured..

Any relevant Sheriff experience: I've served mainly in Las Venturas, however spent a deal of time in BCPD and DPD. I'm often refered to as the redneck of Argonath, and I have a policing background. I have relatives that have served with various Sheriff's departments throughout the United States, so yes I do have background about Sheriff duties.

Any relevant Sheriff experience: Just Appointed Sheriff of APPD and it was working out great I was gathering members and setting up training facilities for tactical calls. I was also a long time Commander of San Fierro Police Department and I have no problem leading units making tactical calls and helping units on personal levels. I am a compassionate understanding leader and I believe I would perfect for the role of Sheriff once again.

Right guys will try to get some training on this week although I'm feeling a bit ill at the moment.
The first thing I would like to do with you all would be to just have you join an Organised patrol with me. In this 1st patrol it will hopefully give me a good idea where everyone is at and will allow me to give advice if there is room for improvement.
We will then do a 2nd patrol to see if you took any advice given and to see any improvements. Part of what makes good Sheriffs or just good RPers in general, is the willingness to learn.
Also quite importantly, if you do join any patrols and want me to comment on your application (and I forgot), please don't hesitate to send me a forum PM.

DPD,FCPD,EQPD and APPD are open again. DPD is now under command of [APB]DeeJay *me* FCPD is now under command of Gibson_Rosso, APPD is now under command of Jimmy Bowling. EQPD is still non-operational.
