Good morning everyone,
I'd like to bring up an issue that has been in SAPD after the implementation of RS5 police system. It appears that the new SAPD scripted exam has not reduced the amount of abusers, instead, it has been increased. I've hoped in for some serious playing after a long pause into the game yesterday and what I notice is complete anarchy. No-ones responding to backup calls anymore, everyone's killing standing still suspects to get money, some of them are even suspecting and killing right away, then there are people who belong to a criminal family and keep helping their family suspects by blocking off other cops. It's very rare to see an official SAPD member in the game anymore which makes the law enforcement weak. We need someone to step up and get the order back. I urge SAPD to do something about it as it's just plain wrong.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
Sincerely,
Alfred Monroe
A concerned officer.

I think it's because there is less involvement coming from the actual SAPD 'career' officers, senior officers and sergeants since the activity has dropped. Mainly because of Christmas and mid-term exams.
-
A good portion of SAPD Senior Officers+ are inactive, some due to exams and such some are just away without leaving notice.
Those that are active we are hoping they'd put themselves into a sort of leadership position and keep Officers in check when on duty.
Hopefully soon SAPD will regain it's strength and be back to what we had pre-RS5, if you see anyone breaching the procedures or regulations (everyone must obey by them now) file a report so we can get it sorted out, alternatively you can always put them on the right path by talking to them in hope they actually listen.

I been working with the officers on the field and large portion of them didn't seem to care about being an officer, most of them finds the job as "fun/jokes", this attitude needs to change. The command to copban officers is also not functional, thus leading to increased number of abusers. However, once the full force of SAPD finally stabilizes and becomes more active, we will see improvements to the global policing attitude and our infrastructure will be much more comprehensive.
-
Well what do you expect? They have removed everyones money making those who once RPed, strive to get that money back and so they resort to killing standing still suspects, stealing other suspects to jail and ignoring every bit of RP possible, look at firemen, nobody shares the location of the fire, everybody rams on the way to missions and will steal your firetruck if they are given the slightest chance, since the only way to put fires out now is with the firetruck itself, theres nothing you can do to change this behavior, unless someone decides to go on a cop banning spree, the players of the server have been RS5'd.

Before the restart (RS4), most of the ARPD officers were aiming for a big SAPD career. Which meant that they had to work hard and couldn't screw around. If the ARPD/SAPD Officers would see what a large SAPD career could offer them, they might decide to change their ways.

I agree with you Alfred Monroe,
I see a lot of officers abusing and breaking the SAPD Rules.
When i see it i tell the Officer it isn't allowed, or i ask Mike to come online. I can't do a lot against them, I'm an Officer so they won't listen to me.

Well, seeing as SAPD Officer no longer means what it used to, what is there to strive for?
When I first applied back in 2009, I didn't ever expect to go above Senior Officer...or Officer for that matter. Now they're already Officers, a lot of people aren't really bothered about progressing, and will piss around! :)

Those interested in progressing would strive to become Senior Officers. Which is now pretty much the SAPD Officer rank from the system we were all used too.
SAPD Officer (ARPD Officer) > Probationary Officer (SAPD Cadet) > Senior Officer (SAPD Officer)
Interest in progressing in SAPD isn't what it used to be before, where you would see pages of applicants waiting to get their chance.
We just have to deal with the reality of things, I do hope SAPD can get back on it's feet.
Those pissing around often not really caring about Police work will see how easy it is to take away the ability to be a cop.

Does the chicken skin still work for that area?

Luky :), as Rusty said, report them here.

Perhaps we need to show them that if they work hard, show potential and work as a team, they can actually build a career in the S.A.P.D. and discover so much more.

Once we have internal issues sorted out, we'll push for doing more activities in-game that would be beneficial for those actually interested.

I understand where this post is coming from as i have seen these issues, like rusty has said some of our staff is inactive due to holidays and exams so there are not as many people to take a leadership role for these officers. We must also remember that several of the people who have been abusing their powers are brand new and have little idea what is expected of them so in time these officers will learn what's expected and behave correctly. The reset also plays a large part in all of this. If our someone who strives for cash you currently dont get anything for jailing someone so people have turned to using /su on people and then shooting them immediately earning them some cash.
I am sure once more of our staff return and people settle in to RS5 we will see any abuse drop steadily

I'm glad to hear that. A lot of Fire/EMS roleplays have been ruined by new officers getting in the way and treating it like a joke. It has become a nuisance for both the ARFD and EMS.

If any Officer is going to be a jackass and ruin role-play provided by ARFD/EMS and attempt to shit on the relationship between the groups then grab hold of a member of our Command Staff. If you can't get anyone in-game file a report. I'll guarantee it'll be checked and responded to within 24 hours or less.
