Overview: Today was the day I organized my first patrol. It was very nerve racking at first. It took a while for everyone to come and when they finally did come, it became more scary. Everyone was a bit wild and I didn't know how to control them. However I asked them to calm down and they became very mature that instant. I was surprised after that. I debriefed them on what was going on and they understood. I assigned teams such as PC-1, PC-2 , PC-3 and so on. Officer Tremble suggested an Air Unit and I wasn't sure if one was needed. I allowed it and we then had eyes in the skies. Also, I then assigned areas of where they would patrol. After all the speaking, it was time to move out. After three minutes or so, I asked them to state their statuses. They all replied quickly and clearly. I was very happy of that. We continued to patrol when suddenly my partner and I noticed a civilian going 112 or so. We attempted a traffic stop but they had no intention of stopping. We asked the AirUnit to help us spot him so that we could find him and suspect him for running from us. We asked for units to come and PC-3 responded. They were going too fast for us so we called in other units. After a few more minutes of chasing, a unit on the radio said they had flipped and were on foot. We rushed to the scene even more hastily as my police cruiser backfired a bit. When we arrived, they had somewhat boxed the suspect and were preventing him from entering his vehicle. Units had begun to use lethal force due to the suspect failing to give up and resisting our arrest. Finally, we had got him. I asked all units to meet back up to DPD. When we all arrived, I had given thanks for all the help and work they had done today.
Conclusion:
Overall, the patrol had been a success in my opinion since we had gotten the only criminal that showed up during the organized patrol. Everyone was able to follow directions and communicate well.
