Title: New SAPD CB Channel 9770!
Post by: Jake Parker on February 19, 2015, 20:12:26 pm
As Rusty took the channel i decide to create a new on for patrols and such. The new CB would be 9770 and can be used any time! Feel free to join.

I believe this needs to be approved by the command team.

I belive this needs to be aproved by The command.
So do I.
Focus on the police radio as it's the MAIN communication chat on police duty and let us decide what happens with the CB.

After talking with Trane, you are free to use 4333 to patrol in, make organised patrols in, etc.
It is not a permanent solution, it is just a temporarily one until we create a new, permanent, CB for the SAPD.

I'm against the implementation of the CB. Although it is a cool thing for role-plays and such admitting that criminals have access to the radio, but we can always RP changing the frequency.
The Citizen Band radio is just another way of communication that will deflect the primary attention from the /r(adio). Let's keep it simple, Teamspeak is enough for off topic.

Having a permanent radio isn't really an intelligent idea to begin with if you intend to use it when the radio itself is compromised.
Changing from channel to channel whenever there's an operation could be a better idea.

The CB is there not for 'pure' police communications, it is there to discuss items, ask questions regarding the police work, and have an overall 'showup' of officers that are available to help newer officers. It is also good during organised patrols, to keep officers updated with callsigns and 'small' updates that other officers should not be bothered about. And it is also good for training to not flood the police radio.

This is indeed, a better idea.

We used the 1234 channel mostly for organised patrols and misc chatter like questions, jokes, conversations and stuff like that which would just spam the radio unnecessarily if we used it instead of the cb. For any 207's and the like which required coordination from various officers and/or agents, we used other CB channels anyway or just the radio. I liked the global PD comms CB and I think it should be brought back, plus for organised patrols we will not need to search for available and empty CB channels.

Programmes like Teamspeak should be used more instead of worrying about a CB at the moment.. (In my opinion)

About the possibility that the channel's privacy is compromised, always make sure you know who's in the channel with /cbusers, if there's anyone in there without a rank or off duty, there might already be a problem. So pay attention to that.. Besides, it's not that hard for undesireables to listen in on EMS chatter, just go on duty and /CB everything relevant to your buddies, therefor an undisclosed CB is even more safe.

Not everyone is connected with teamspeak so how will you add the teaching and laughing part etc with new officers? I don't see a problem in creating a cb channel...

Why wouldn't 1234 be fine? It does the job?! What kind of ideas have you got with a new CB for patrols and things?

Rusty was the owner of CB 1234, Rusty is not using it for SAPD anymore.
He's using it for himself now, so we need a new CB.

Just randomize the CB Channels, or use the channels of Upper Command Officers' to use during a situation where it'll be needed.

One such example where the actual police radio was compromised is when I was in Corleone where I held the police station hostage. (That was a stupid, yet interesting experience)
