It is law for a vehicle to pull over when an Emergency Vehicle comes up on them with Lights and Siren.
Therefore stating that, is it mandatory to really have to use the /m1 "Pullover!" command?
Granted, I'm not going to suspect someone WITHOUT doing it, but I mean if they pull over without you using the /m1 command.
I always viewed /m1 as mandatory if the violator didn't realize he was being stopped.
I know it's good to always use /m1, but if there's some situations where /m1 isn't available, or just not a smart choice to stop and type it instead of driving (Argonath Law to pull over while talking/typing), is it REALLY necessary?
If the Law states you must pull over for an emergency vehicle, wouldn't the m1 command just be a tool?
or am I little confused?
I don't want unsure answers, SAPD Leadership only please. I've had a few different answers already from unsure people. Thanks!

Generally you need to ask implicit to "Pull over" in game. If you don't do it, people moan and will claim that they are abused. :)
-
So you SHOULD give the /m1 warning, but you don't HAVE to?

You have to, else you will be acused for abusing and admins will unsus the suspect. So always use /m1 (or "/m Pull over!") if you want someone to park up to the side.
-
How is it abusing, if they have to pull over anyway whenever there is an emergency vehicle behind them with lights and siren? You don't see cops in real life blasting "Pullover!" on the megaphone every time they're behind someone, lol.
-
Well.. too bad Rory, people don't give a f**k when they see a PD Cruiser siren on.. instead of they make a way / pull over.. they BLOCK you're way.. and it has happened to me a lot... but yes, you MUST use /m1 if you want to pull over someone or else it will be abused and admin will unsuspect that person, also lot of people will whine, and you know better how people WHINE OVER Main Chat...
-
I understand what your saying Rory, but the thing is people can alter the volume, so a lot of people have SFX (I think its called) down and Radio, TS or Music ((Ie Windows media player and such)) all the way up = Sirens can not be heard if this is the case,This I think is one of the reasons we have to /m1 . ((Or /m Pull over ))
-
You don't have to use /m1, you should use it, so it's more clear that you told them to pull over but I'm very sure that the SAPD regulations do not say you have to. Just make sure you make it obvious, and are very close to the person. Because, for example as Jay just said, they could have their volume off. Just mainly make sure they know you are trying to pull them over.

This happened to me A LOT
Ppl keep saying that:
- My voice is muted
- I didn't look the back
- My stereo is broke
- I didn't see you
- I am deaf (RP)
- I am deaf (IRL)
- I didn't realize
- etc.
And that's ... No comment
But here is some ppl how RP that...
But now, u should use /m1 or /m Pull over
To avoid above abuses
:cop:

Yes, may actually happen but still, annoying.
- I am deaf (RP)
VERY annoying, I belive there should be some admin action if the player reacts to some sound (gunfire) to his advantage.
- I am deaf (IRL)
Just lol at this one... :D
You should use /m1, and at the same time watch for the distance so you can be sure he hears you. Most people do not care if they see a cop with sirens on, so a message has to be directed for them to stop.

a message has to be directed for them to stop.
But no PMing :gandalf:
-
also i noticed the lights on the cars are not synced all the time (some times it is)
-
Alright, I understand better now, and thanks for the input, I'm sure it's helped other out as well. Even if it's not policy, I'll just assume /m1 is a requirement in a vehicle pullover.
I use /m1 sometimes when approaching vehicles Code 3 just to make sure they get the **** out of my way. :rules:

Problem is unlike real life our vehicles are not fitted with mirrors, and even I do not drive around using the view set to backwards, afterall I may hit someone.
Yesterday I had a idition cop try to pull me over (and me in DARK blue rushing to get to LV to get heavey equipment in reasponse to a problem) he was no more thatn a car length away and I could not hear the sirens, yet became aware they was on.
Just because you have sirens on, do not assume they know your there.
I may actually make a command to say ... pullover we need to pass ...
And no I am not going to make aystem that detects if you have a cop car behind you, thats not needed. (and would cause more lag)
-
true, sometimes you don't hear sirens at all, you need to drive close...
-
I may actually make a command to say ... pullover we need to pass ...
I like this, CBF that's be helpful. Thanks for the reply.
/m4 = "[SASD]Rory_A shouts megaphone): EMERGENCY... PULLOVER and allow us to PASS!"
or something.

Well...
I usually do:
/m SAPD: Emergency, move!
b4 responding
-

That would be VERY useful, because it's really annoying when you're speeding down a street and have to start typing and by the time you type SAPD: MOVE the car has already drove away!

When I'm using a Buffalo, I usually have /em Sirening Buffalo ready for CTRL+V. I use it when someone is blocking my way.
In case someone feels compelled to say, "but key binds are not allowed Kitsune", it's not a key bind, it's copy (CTRL+C) and paste (CTRL+V), which is entirely allowed.
Third party key bind programs are not allowed.

What about a command where when the emergency vehicle uses it, it tells all users driving a vehicle nearby to the emergency vehicle that an emergency vehicle is coming up behind them with the lights and siren on?
Example:
Civilian driver is in front of a code 3 emergency vehicle.
Cop/Paramedic/Fireman types: "/m4"
Civilian Driver sees: "NOTICE: An emergency vehicle behind you is attempting to pass with its lights and sirens on. Please pull off to the side of the road and allow them to pass."
(Or something shorter to that effect...)
