So I was thinking. If an officer who is alone comes face to face with criminals that shooting him and don't have time to call on radio..why can't he have an emergency transponder! He activates it and all nearest units will be informed in radio by this message "Officer Bibibibibi has activated his emergency transporter, send someone to check it"
Yes I know it will be abused by freecops, but there will be punishment for them as it will be straightly script abuse and they can get cop-ban.Tell me your ideas about it..
-
So it would be like /distress??
Good idea im 100% behind this
-
Totally not neccesary...But that might just be me, seeing as though I apparently type faster then marcos :trust:
-
it would be a transponder, by the way.
-
/p(anic)b(utton) ?

You type faster than autotypers or keybinds :D
Not needed, use TeamSpeak! That is what it is made for!
-
But wen im on TS nobody is on everbody is still using crappy 2.0. im using 3.0Beta 9

Because Argonath TS server is still on TS2.

Not to mention when you're on TS, you call for backup, and pretty much nobody responds or even says a word. However, as for the idea itself, I'm definately all for it.

/r Code 30 Idl
/me dead
-
/panic would be nice
-
Yea, Im 100% For this.
-
Make it show up to EMS and Fire?
-
Well,It can be a good RP idea and a good, very good tool for the officer, last time I checked only SAS used it but it can be great for cops too. Many officer's lives will be saved by this. Also something important.Officer Kidnapped?Radio Stolen?Phone stolen aswell? Then you have the transponder, who will make sure fellow officers know the situation and come rescue you.
-
Ooooo Me likey idea - post this on the ArgonathRPG Main forums under the Idea section? I think this would be a very beneficial use for officers - Although I have to disagree on the "Radio Stolen - Phone Stolen" because for one: if your radio is stolen, how would you be able to press a button on it to inform officers of the situation - Bad RP:
Civi: /me attempts to steal police officers radio from belt.
Cop: /em radio has been took.
Civi: /me runs off with officers radio.
*Radio*: (typing the panic button command) **Stolen Radio alert - blah blah blah at blah blah blah**
as an effect, all panic buttons on a real police transmitter are located ON the radio - now if you have a button growing out your fingertip - then by all means...Press away my friend.
Good RP:
Civi: /me attempts to steal police officers radio from belt.
Cop: /em radio has been took.
Civi: /me runs off with officers radio.
Cop: /call 911 "This is Officer Doodles - A guy has stolen my Police Radio - I'll be in pursuit of him ; we're currently westbound in Idlewood; if I can have some units to respond Code 3"
*Radio*: (although you can not hear it) ---People saying that they're responding to the last known location---
And the phone stolen - would be the other way around for the RP that is said above... (I ain't typing that all over again).
But overall your idea about the "Panic Button" is a great idea and I hope we'd be able to see it implemented in the near future.

Patrol with a partner. If you get shot at one of you can return fire to distract whilst the other officer radios in.

/r <Message>
This is ALWAYS 100% effective!

**Jcstodds slowly reaches and puts his hands down his trousers and fiddles around trying not to look conspicuous.
/r Jcstodds (Radio) says: *Beep *Beep *Beep: An emergency transponder has been set off.
Then criminals can see, and choose how they want to react. Which in my eyes is a good thing, because then you can get an idea of the intentions and RP ability of them :)

Hmm. .
I personally like the idea, would be easy to put in and they have it in Argonath VC servers, one of them. It's like /bu or something, which is relativly similar in that it calls for backup, or backup on a specific suspect. Sounds cool.
-
Criminals can see what we say anyway in /r
-
If /panic works within distance, this is pointless, because how about if there is no cop next to you.
but if it alerts like 2-5 officers closest to you, then its a great advantage, they can respond quickly.
ohh and it should be like /r, so criminals dont see it. this idea could work.

Sorry pal, learn this.
People who are not on duty can see in LOCAL chat what an officer says on his radio, including suspects. Try it sometime.

Yes, that is the point. If you read my statement carefully!

Otherwise I would think it unfair to have an invisible panic button, which can easily just be roleplayed.
