Title: *** new accepted ARPD speed trap ***
Post by: isntactive on July 28, 2008, 23:30:24 pm
We will get a new speed trap for ARPD,
as an addition for catching speeders outside pull overs

Not much cops will know about it already, only 4 Cops knew about this
A couple of days ago I started doing it on the LS-FC bridge like some know,
After it I asked to Hank_rafferty if its possible to do,
And he thought It was a great idea, so we worked it out completely,
He only wanted to look at some results, so I did some tests with [ S ]Winters and Wesley1990
And the results were good, we caught some speeders who have received there ticket already,
Now you still don’t know what it is but this is it:

You will stand somewhere near a road, I can advise you to be with more cops and not alone because its still done by humans so you can miss the speeding and then the other can get him,
Then you stay ready to catch speeders, if someone gets close to you, you do /speed
And take a screenshot with F8, if it was speeding you got him, if it wasn’t speeding you can forget the screenshot you made,
This screenshot is needed in case the speeder doesn’t want to pay and takes it to court,
With screenshot you got evidence so you will win the court case,
If you have got a speeder you look on pricelist(further in this topic)
And if you know how much the fine will be you can /pm the guy:
Mailbox: ARPD ticket of $.... for speeding
(its mailbox because you, like irl, receive it later at your home in mailbox, on rp way)

And if its good he will pay the ticket, if not you can /su him for refusing to pay ticket,
If he takes it to court you can use your speeding screenshot to win it,

You can try this without good screenshot, but you might lose the court case,
So civilians if you are sure its fake make a court of it, don’t let cops abuse you.

Pricelist:
-in city speeding:                          *difference in price is made by the more danger you bring
Starting at $75                                for civilians by in city speeding
-out of city speeding:
Starting at $50

And above this it will at a price for the speeding above speed limit:
-for every 5 km/h above the speed limit you get $10 on your fine
-the fine is starting from over 10 km/h too hard, so for 10 km/h you wont get a fine

On table way:
                             !  81-85/121-125  !    91-95/131/135  !  96-100/136-140 !    and go on..
                             !  86-90/126-130  !                          !                        !
In city (80)              !           $0*        !        $105           !          $115        ! every 5 more+10
Out of city(120)       !           $0*         !        $80            !          $90          ! every 5 more+10

So someone is driving 90, in city, means he is in the second group, from 86-90, so its under 10 km/h speeding, so no fine
*except when you directly pull him over, but then you don’t use this kind of speed trap

Someone is driving 95, in city, means he is in the third group(91-95), so 3x $10 on top of it,
Means $75+3x$10= $105 fine
So you do count the first 10 km/h in the price! Means automatic that you add $20 above starting price

***** this is officially accepted by ARPD Chief Hank_Rafferty and counts for all civilians except cops/medics with sirens on for a valid reason*****

/me would like to thank Hank_rafferty for his support and help
/me would like to thank Wesley1990 for his help in testing
/me would like to hank [ S ]Winters for his help in testing

signed,
Officer Murderboy

Title: Re: *** new accepted ARPD speed trap ***

no, its just another way of catching speeders outside the pull overs
Title: Re: *** new accepted ARPD speed trap ***
Post by: FlameMan on July 28, 2008, 23:59:47 pm
ive got nothing against it, but there are some situtations, when i am resigning from fine.. when somebody is telling sorry, and he admit truth...
then im warning him and leaving to go...

thats with pulling over, this goes more in the way of a (mmm how is that called in english) post who takes pictures of speeders, and then they get the fine at home,
if you dont like it, you can stay at the old pulling over,
and the ppl who like it(and there are some) can do this new trap too

i think its a great idea personaly, but thats if you want to sit around waiting for a speeding car to pass you.

It's a really interesting job if you work in a big organized group, believe me, tested it myself. ;)

Omg.....i was doing the F8+/speed ID thingie from the time,i was a cadet, and i still do it......
But idea is great.

from now you can officially do it and give a fine after it, when you did it before it wasnt officially accepted speed trap
and johhny for that find a good place, where enough ppl pass, and else change your location more,
and carhartt like i said: its better to do it with more players,
because it is hard to get the speeder in the screenshot and also with the /speed
Title: Re: *** new accepted ARPD speed trap ***
Post by: James_Hunter on July 29, 2008, 09:24:36 am
Great idea, apart from the F8, I don't want to clog my computer and if we have a command that simply captures speeders when we are on 'Speed Trap' duty then there will be no need for a court case, there rarely is - they just pay the bill!
Title: Re: *** new accepted ARPD speed trap ***
Post by: isntactive on July 29, 2008, 09:43:57 am
possible yes,
but that doesnt exist so we have to do it with F8 for now, and delete all finished screenshots(after ticket is paid, and no speeders on it)

and in case of a court we will need a screenshot to win, even if this doesnt happens a lot,
the civils have the right to defend themselves in a court case, so they dont get abused by it

                             !  81-85/121-125  !    91-95/131/135  !  96-100/136-140 !    and go on..

Out of city(120)       !           $0*         !        $80            !          $90          ! every 5 more+10

Do your table again please so people can understand it because I have no clue what that table means.

                             l       1-85MPH      l    85-100MPH      l    100-120MPH    l    120MPH+

Good work Murderboy, i guess if the citizens see speed traps working around the state they wont speed too much.
At least if they wana avoid to get annoying fine every 10 minutes... heh.

I understand more if Roadkill table.

Today i joined this speed traps. Worked well. speeders lower there speeds and we changed locations often. I hope more will work together to make the driving safer on our streets.

Pancher joined in today yeah,
and we have changed our place a lot,
but it looked like all civillians tell the others where the trap is,
but i really saw a decreasing number of speeding, only some ppl playing with the trap are caught(going next us a lot)

and roadkill your table is good, we can use that too,
its a bit different from the prices i did

but there is 1 fault,
the 86-90/126-130 group is also $0 because this is still inside the 10 km/h speeding

and your table looks the same like mine btw, only the numbers are different

***new: we got an empty cb channel for the speeding, its has been used already, so when you do a speedtrap /joinchannel 8888 our speed trap channel, so you can cooperate better***

Title: Re: *** new accepted ARPD speed trap ***
Post by: isntactive on July 29, 2008, 23:45:22 pm
yeah, lots of ppl like to play with us, and keep driving there,
but at least the number of players speeding decreased,

and also i can advise you to do this with 2/3 ppl,
a big cooperating is good, but with 2/3 you got more cops free for other spots,
and its easier,
you just do /speed take a screenshot with F8, and later after speed trap you fine them(the way how to /pm is in the first post here from me)
and this also is where it goes about, giving fines after it, and not the old-fashioned pull over,

this is how we did today:

Team A                           speed lookers                                Team B
!!------------------------------!!----------------------------------!!

then the speed watchers will inform a team, depending on which side he is going to get after him,
so if he goes to team a, then inform team A and they get him,
and each team got at least 2 cops, same car better,
then A and B chase the speeder, ask to pull over, if not pulling over /su him for evading cops,
after that return to your old location, and other cops will get the suspect,

also possible with 2 cars on A and B, so 1 car can catch the first speeder, and when there is another 1, and member 1 isnt back yet, then member 2 can get him,
but normally that isnt needed

Well i think email is bad thing. I think there should be special board on ARPD forums for those reports, then all officers could see it and fine for that.

oh sorry flame,
and anyway use the email to send any questions about speed trap, whats the price of that much and all,
and wesley it isnt for screenshots, would only spam my mailbox(the emails are directed to my personal email)
so everyone can handle his own fines with screenshot, that isnt needed to go to me
and if something is wrong with screenshot or you show it so its more clear, you can email it then

and if you got trouble send mail to the email.
then you will get an answer.

so use email for:
-questions about speedtrap(how much is price of this speeding, how it really works, and more)
-any suggestions

I love this idea, and it works well..

Here's a list I made for everyone, they can print to make finding citation fines a little easier.

I got these fines exactly off of the first post. "For every 5 km/h add 10"

CITY:
91-95:    $105
96-100:   $115
101-105:   $125
106-110   $135
111-115:   $145
116-120:   $155
121-125:   $165
126-130:   $175
131-135:   $185
136-140:   $195
141-145:   $205
146-150:   $215
151-155:   $225
156-160:   $235
161-165:   $245
166+:   $250

COUNTY:
131-135   $80
136-140   $90
141-145   $100
146-150   $110
151-155   $120
156-160   $130
161-165   $140
166-170   $150
171-175   $160
176-180   $170
181-185   $180
186-190   $190
191-195   $200

176-180   $275
181-185   $285
186-190   $295

1) That's preety too much
2) 250 $ is Max fine.
3) Starting from that speed it's rare when sometimes pulls over.

191-195   $200

First of all, maximum ticket price in Argonath state is 250$ :)
These prices are too high, sometimes ticket of 20-30$ is enough.. better than 295$ fine :P
