Title: *Hi All* I would like to ask for a favor.
Post by: Atunzuman on October 20, 2009, 00:14:07 am
Does anyone have a decent police car that supports the ELM? I was using one but it wont work with it. Also, I cant run those highly detailed crown vics.

Any Help?   Thank in advance.

I can provide you with two very good options.
--------------------

Option 1

Download (http://www.2shared.com/file/8564577/9f06438b/LSPD_Cruiser_Greenie.html)
--------------------

Option 2

Download (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=POZHGSZO)
--------------------

Personally, I'd go with the second option.  Have fun.  ;)

I can't put my finger on any, sorry, but if you search these forums, there are quite a few good ones made by some members.
If you search in any search engine, you should also get similar results to what you are looking for.

Nice finds Fred!
I like the first one. Looks great with that lightbar on it.

Thanks.  When he said he wants a police car modification which is capable of using the ELM, but cannot afford to run those heavy Ford Crown Victoria modifications, my mind came across these straight away.  ;)

Unfortunately, most of the mods that are out there are high quality. And if they aren't, they're usually crap. :P I'm having trouble finding low quality mods myself, so best of luck to both of us! :D

You guys need to correct yourselves on saying "How do you add ELM lights?"

You're not adding "Emergency Light Modification lights".  What you're doing is looking for a modification that is compatible with ELM.  I just thought I'd clear that up, as I'm getting a bit annoyed and dislike seeing people asking "How do I add ELM lights?"

Now, to perform the task of adding a light bar to the top of the vehicle which lights up just like the headlights, thus making it ELM compatible, you'd need to have some good enough knowledge of how to use 3D Studio Max.  ;)

If you guys are having trouble with HQ mods due to SA's memory limit limitations, PM me. I know where you can find a fix. If it's due to your computer's limitations, then you are "shit out of luck" as they say. Buy a new computer.

As long as it's a Crown Victoria modification, there's a 99.99% of a chance that it's high poly.

well, i use to use these, http://www.gtainside.com/en/download.php?do=cat&id=174&start=14&orderBy= (the crown vics on the bottom)

But now i replaced some vehicles with these, they are awesome with NO lag: http://forum.another RP community.com/viewtopic.php?f=220&t=56013

It would be perfect for me if there where more lights.

This is my enforcer: http://www.gtapolicemods.com/downloads.php?page_id=173

I think you might want to remove that link to another RP community as it may be considered as advertising, which I think is not allowed here either, just as it's not allowed on the Argonath forums.  ;)

I recently learned how to edit .dff files and I edited serval High-Poly Crown Victoria's to Medium-Low Poly.

Pictures:

I removed the engine, the useless underbody parts and the interior. I know it sucks without an interior but it's a low-poly, ELM compatible LAPD Crown Victoria  :cop:

And it runs smoothly on my crappy PC

Autodesk 3ds Max 2009 but it needs Kam's DFF plugin to open .dff

Really nice work there Dodo.  I have been wanting to give a shot at editing ".dff" files for a while, especially for editing pedestrians and police cruisers.  I might just give it a shot today if I can, and I'd be glad if you could help me out as a beginner, as I may just need help.  ;)

Or if you don't have the time, simply point me in the direction of the tutorial you possibly used.

Grr. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. Every time I remove some parts of the model and try to export the DFF file, it doesn't let me. And when I screw around with the exporting settings, the model pieces end up in different places, and is no longer a car model. How do you export the DFF file after modifying it?
