Real Life Police Volunteer's Gallery
« on: November 08, 2014, 14:54:20 pm »

Hey guys,

So, some of you might know that in real life I'm part of the Police Volunteers Organisation. This organisation are citizens who wish to work for a change and help the police with their duties.
There are two divisions of this organisation: Underage (Junior) one and the Senior one. I'm currently in the Junior one, since I'm underage and I part take in leading this organisation.
It currently has 8 numbers.
Our full name is "KlaipÄ—da County's Supreme Police Department, Kretinga District Municipality's Police Department's Junior Police Volunteers".

What we do is not much. Our activities are limited, because since we're underage, our supervisory Police Officer is directly responsible if anything happens to us. Most of the time our activities consist of underage crime prevention and patrolling at schools and youth events and representing the police, however, sometimes we also do test buys, actual traffic patrols and so on.

Our pictures:

Meeting of the senior volunteers council - writing an act of kicking a member out for violation of our regulations.

Patrolling in our local park which was recently reconstructed:

Town patrol:

A photo after a lecture we've given in a neighbouring towns school:

"Safe Neighbourhood Programme". Giving away flyers with information on house burglars and how to protect your house:

In a conference of youth organisations:

Traffic Control: Checking if students obey the traffic laws and wear light reflectors on their way to school:

The initiation of new members:

Patrolling the road crossing, making sure the cars yield to the pedastrians:

Our 2014-2015 team:

Patrolling in the celebration of September 1st.

Our oganised sports competition:

Park patrol:

Energy drinks are banned for underage people since the 1st of November: Informing the shopkeepers.

Traffic Control; Giving away light reflectors and making sure that bycicle drivers have light reflecting vests and lights on.

Introducing police gear to children in the fair of youth organisations:

Patrolling in an event:

Ah cool. I'm joining the LAPD Reserves so I guess this is sort of like LAPD Cadets.

LAPD Reserves: Same thing as a Full Time Officer. Only difference: No pay, No benefits. 18-20 can't carry a handgun.

Is the senior one the same as a reserve would be here?

Not exactly. When youre a senior volunteer you dont sit 24/7 in the department. Basically you're taken to organised patrols, events that need more manpower and so on, but you do not participate in their activities 24/7, unless your unemployed, then they allow you to :D

Ah but the question is do you have Police Authority if you're a Senior Member? What do you carry? Are you a official part of the Department (Like more official then the junior ones in term of Police Authority and Equipment)?

You do not have authority when you're not doing activities with a police officer or when you are not assigned any. As a Senior Volunteer you do receive Taser at some times. The rest of the time, nobody's permitting you from carrying it, but you must buy it yourself.
