Hello guys. I am Officer Gabriel Vogel, patrolman and investigator of the Los Santos Police Department, and also an argonath civilian as everyone else.
Recently, ive seen that gang wars increased and so does the crime rate, especially on the Idlewood-Ganton area, with crime rate set to HIGH. Civilians around the area and also throughout Los Santos are worried with the crime and started to buy guns to defend themselves. GUNS!
I myself use a gun(Colt 1911) to protect myself when off-duty. But I have training, I know when it is safe to use and I have my responsabilities. However, most of the citizens in argo doesnt have that kind of knowledge, and they go around and buy Combat Shotguns(I nick-named it the
don't need to know your derogatory nicknames) and sub-machineguns or even deagles to defend themselves, even with Non-letal options like Pepper Spray are avaiable at the Ammu-nation.
I recall a case when I was doing investigator duty at LSPD, a very recent case(you can check it at my desk) where a normal man living in the idlewood area was attacked by a Balla. The balla tought the man was a Grove(or i9, I think), and shot him several times. The man ran and got his weapon, and killed the Balla. Then, he walked to the PD and asked investigation. I investigated him, and I realized it was self-defense. However, he MURDERED the man, and by law, it still is punishable. I gave him the minimal time for murder(self-defense, 50-70 secs is good).
Case solved? Not for me. A family was crushed. The guy had kids and wife, his family fell apart when they got the news, and now their kids joined i9, since they now hate police officers for jailing their dad. Now we have two more criminals on the street.

http://sgtstrong.com/guns.html), is about gun safety. Most of the citizens in Argonath own guns and use them to defend themselves, but unfortunately, they just buy it without even knowing how to defend themselves as Citizens.
In my opinion, we should encourage people to buy non-lethal weps, such as Pepper-Spray.
As a trained Officer, and according to what ive seen a lot while on duty, pepper spray works on a armed suspect and also against a suspect armed with his knife, bat or whatever.
I know what you are thinking: "Oh, why a non-lethal and simple Pepper-spray is better than a gun in my waist? I feel safer shooting the guy rather than stopping him for a few seconds!"
Trust me, mate: It works. One day, as an applicant for SAPD, I was patrolling El corona(this place lags my PC a lot, just for the record), and all of a sudden, we saw a suspect running in our direction, suspected for assault, and armed with a deagle.
He shot at us. I told my partner(other freecop) to use spray instead. We, combined, stopped an armed suspect and arrested him.
See? It is useful to have an spray at your hand rather than a pistol. not only you will not be suspected for stopping the man, you'll be running away more easily than pointing your combat at the man and shooting. You'll get an advantage to call the police and to yell for help.
Think about it, as citizen, and also as cop. Non-Lethal weapons must be used more often, especially with unarmed suspects. Im tired of seeing unarmed suspects being SHOT DEAD by untrained officers(even as SAPD).
