SAPD Adopter Report

Sender: SAPD Officer Benjamin Blake

To the desk of: ARPD Officer Mark Johnson

This ARPD Officer took part in the 207 training which happened today. After it ended, and I had finished speaking with Academy staff, I came and spoke to him. I won't say the whole conversation, as I said I would keep it confidential/private, but basically:

- The applicant understood what went wrong, from his POV
- Has learnt what he would not do in a 207 situation as the leader or team member
- Has got a greater idea on how to play a part of a successful 207 situation

Don't forget, as you said (and I agree with)...good communication is crucial. I won't say perfect, because there's always ways to improve, however.

I think the Academy Staff will trust my judgment enough to know that I know what went wrong in the operation, and that I also have the correct idea on how to fix it in future trainings. If not, however, then feel free to drop me a PM, and I'll give a little bit more information...I'm not willing to say the exact conversation though, for privacy purposes.

Mark, don't forget my final point, though you already pointed it out:
- If the hostage dies, then we fail. The kidnappers are almost worthless in comparison to the hostage's life. Priority one is to protect civilians. That is why we did not wish extra civilians to be brought on-scene during the 207 operation.

Good luck mate, I know we share the same view on this, because you said the exact thing I was going to say on more than one occasion.

Patrol Report

Date: 04/02/2012

Length: About 5~ hours spread through out the day

Patrol Partner(s): Ethan_Carter

Suspects Arrested: 4
Suspects Killed: 6

Tickets Issued: 1
Civilians Stopped: 2

Description of your shift: Today was a challenging day. Went chasing a suspect on an NRG but me and my partner couldnt catch him so we gave up on that. Then we pulled over 2 fireman that drove up the wrong ramp at LV/LS highway with no sirens on. They tried to evade us but we got them under control. 1 got killed and the other one jailed. Then my partner had to go and i went solo. I responded to a 911 call at Santa Marina Beach. Some guy crashed his limo into the pillars near the PNS. He suddenly stopped breathing and i performed CPR and he started breathing again. Later EMS came and took care of the situation. Meanwhile i sat up a road block to divert the traffic from the accident. Ive also investigated two guys. Had to request an unsuspection on both of the criminals due to lack of evidence and suspecting officer left.

Conclusion: To conclude my day i am very satisfied. I helped save a life, i learned more about investigations by putting what ive been learned and told into action. And both the guys were satisfied with the job i did. So a very good day.

  • -- Notes --
Learned a few things about traffic stops today
  • -- Questions --
When i got a 10-15. Should i then use 10-76 LSPD or 10-19 LSPD when i wanna inform other officers im bringing them in? And when im on duty i notice some codes that aint on the forum. Where can i find a complete list of all radio codes?
  • -- Plans for improvements --
Read up on some of the codes as im still not sure what all of the codes mean

SAPD Adopter Report

Date: 5th February 2012

Length: About 30-45 minutes I guess.

Training type: Shooting training
Area trained in: Fort Carson Target Range

Name of Adopter: SAPD Officer BenThePenguin (Ben Blake)
Name of Adoptee: ARPD Officer Mark Jackson

Weapons Issued: Standard Duty Weapons - Special Duty Weapon (SMG) - Heavy Weaponry (Sniper Rifle)
Weapons Returned: None - All heavy weaponry used in the training

Training Report: Took my adopted ARPD Officer for a little shooting training at the Fort Carson Target Range. Firstly Mark had to fire at the targets using only the Deagle. As we reached the targets at the back, I briefed Mark to use the SMG, and proved to him that it has a lot more range. He carried this out very well. Next, I briefed him to shoot the tyres on my Rancher as I drove around, using the SMG. He did this very well, and even managed to take out two tyres almost simultaneously! I was suitably impressed. Finally, we travlled to the DPD ammunation. Mark stocked up with sniper bullets, and I grabbed some heavy body armour. I then positioned Mark on a roof a little distance away from the Fort Carson range, and instructed him to shoot my armour away. I started firing at the targets as though I was a criminal attacking police officers, and Mark successfully took out my armour.
I honestly believe this ARPD Officer would be a good asset to the SAPD - Good luck Mark!

Conclusion: Beautiful work. I think the description covers everything I wanted to say. Although, one other thing...I'm proud to be looking out for and helping train Mark, he's certainly a pleasure to teach! And yes, I know this isn't my usual format...but with DPD's closure, I got permission from Lieutenant Reece of the Argonath County Sheriffs to use this style of report, though a little editted. Some credit goes to him!

When I first joined the SAPD, I was given a lot of support by my Instructors, but I do wish I'd been offered more as an ARPD Officer. I'm glad to do my bit for you now!  ;)
