« on: October 17, 2012, 17:37:11 pm »
How to become an Officer and how to work.

Hello, Let me introduce,I'm Tom_Collin and i will show you how to become an Officer and how to work properly.I would like to be read from new players and also i would like this text be Helpful.
First Step:"Become an Officer" As you have seen the most known place and with the most population is Commercial Area,(Commerce)there is the Los Santos City Hall and the Los Santos Police Department(You must know it from SinglePlayer,it is the Police Department you get arrested).Infront of it all,it is Pershing Square.I guess now you know about what area i talk about. You go infront of LSPD's Door and type /enter . As you enter turn left to the PD Locker Rooms type /duty or go to the Blue shirt Icon.Oh!There is a menu.TIP:You select with space. In the start most of the people think they select with "Enter" Key and they exit the menu.Anyway,as you see the menu,Select with key "Space" choose your skin and when you choosed the skin you want press 2 times the "Down arrow" and select "Use this skin" Then you got that skin and you got blue name.
Second Step:"Work properly" Alright,as you are an officer now you will have to make your job properly and DO NOT abuse. You /exit the pd and go to the garage and take a PD Vehicle.(Police car recommended for pursuits). You go around LS Firstly to learn the most populate town in Argonath. You see someone speeding, reckless driving or breaking Traffic LAW Rules? Go behind him and press /m1,1st Can happend:The cillivian Pull overs. You do /m engine off. and if you see "[NAME] has turned off their engine" Get out of the vehicle and go to his door-window.Ask for lisence and registration /l Can i have your lisence and registeration? - "[NAME] Ok." "[NAME] Gives the officer his lisence and registeration. If it happens do /me takes them - Then after you RP if they are vailed or not you hand them back. You check boot and do /em what i find? and he says you Example: some burgers and fried patatoes [NAME][xx] you do /me searches and founds a bag with food. Then you say "/L All clear" you can go.There are too much ways that RP can be.That you will found them out by starting with this simply one i said.2nd Can happend:The cillivian don't pull overs and you are forced to do /su [id] evade and then chase them.
Third Step:"The Chase"Oh,And after you su him for evade,or see someone with orange color you chase him.Chase=Go by him till you can stop him.You can use P.I.T..1st Can happen:"You chase him for time.It can be short or big time. You try to P.I.T. him or to stop the vehicle with any way you want.If you ram Suspect's car you can explode it.If you stop him or explode it(The most of the times it get exploded because it's more easier till you learn the perfect P.I.T.) The suspects gets out and starts shooting. You shoot back.(You can train your shooting in Parelli Universe,I don't know if i have permission to post the I.P. I will update it if i get permission)You get killed. You report C-30 To radio(here are the Codes) OR you kill the suspect.2nd Can happend. You chase him,You stop his vehicle with P.I.T. or explode and he starts shooting, you shoot back.Finnaly,Suspect's health is very low and he decideds to /gu .So he gave up.You still aim him and RP /cuff ing him.Use /cuff .And then say him to enter your PD Vehicle. You go to to PD.He follows you and you /jail [id] [secs] him OR he asks for Investigation. You invegistate him.(About Investigation go lower).3rd Can happen: You and other officers find the Suspect on foot. Then you circle him and aiming at him saying to Give up.You /cuff or another officer and you got to the PD and Jail or Investigate,You or another officer. Many can happen that you will see them and get expirienced of it.These are the most usual ways. But IG you will meet other ways and People. If you lost the suspect while chasing then try to think that you did your Best and don't get dissapointed.
Forth Step:"Investigation"You get with the suspect at the PD.He ask for invegistation.Learn here what Investigation is.It's not a easy word that you could know in English so see here what it means. So now you know what Investigation is as a word let's see how it is in Acting.First Step:Go with the suspect at an Investigation room. You go at a computer.Do /work at a computer and rp searching Suspect's name in the Citizen Database./me searches for [NAME] [LASTNAME] in the citizen database.(1) Matches Found. Before that ask Suspect's name like /l What's your name,Sir?.You call the Officer that have /su ed the Suspect. If he isn't online then you ask for UNSU for "Lack of Evidences" in /r .If the officer /su ed the suspect is online you call him to come to the PD.If he refuses to come then you ask UNSU for "Charges Dropped" .If the officer comes then you ask the Suspect to tell his view of the scene. Then when he ends you ask the Officer /su ed the Suspect to say his view of scene. When the 2 Opinions are told, then you try to find Officers were in the scene, then when you confuse more evidence you take your final decision.Officer is working for Community Safe.So he isn't supposed to lie.You explain the Suspect that and your decision can be in behalf of the Suspect and ask for UNSU or in behalf of the Officer,In that situation you /jail [id] [time] the Suspect.

In which situation Investigation is vailed:
  • When the suspect is /su ed for any Invailed-Vailed reason and he have /gu ed immidiately,He can be invegistated.
  • TIP:Invailed Crimes become vailed if you evade.
In which situation Investigation is invailed:
  • If the suspect is /su ed for Invailed-Vailed reason and he have evaded,he can't be investigated.
  • If the suspect have Murdered and asks for invegistation, even if he haven't evaded, he can't be investigated.

Under construction.

It is unlikely that any new player will see this on the forum before going ingame to go on cop duty so I'm not sure how helpful this will be.

Also when writing a guide, it is best to split into smaller points rather than large paragraphs.

Thanks for trying to help here, but it will make more difference if you spent your time ingame teaching the new cops! :D

It takes experience in the field and on forums to write guides ;)
It must meet some requirements, such as: Easy to read, Good font choice, Good colour choice, good lenght of paragraphs.

Good luck with finishing it though.

I don't see how field experience has anything to do with writting. Anyway i'm not here to argue but you could be nicer to him, he is trying to help, that's all.
Good luck with it Tom.

That wall of text needs improvement to make it easier to read, and I only got to the point where you were teaching new ARPD officers to search the vehicles of every car, which is insane. Unless a valid reason for that is given, the new officers may end up in either the Court Hall or 'Report an Officer' section. Furthermore, even at that point the person may request to see a warrant if they feel the search is unreasonable.

Also, the entire thing is incredibly confusing to someone who knows how to be a police officer. Imagine if you do not.

Soooo yeah.
