[SA:MP] 9/11 Memorial
« on: September 11, 2015, 23:25:11 pm »

United States of Argonath
9/11 Memorial

Time of start: 21.16 CET
Location: Glen Park, Jefferson, Los Santos

Note from the author:

It is with great aplomb that I confirm that today's memorial for the 9/11 events, that once shook the world, went perfectly according to plan, without any hindrances, obstructions or significant disturbances. Several citizens of the dear United States of Argonath have attended the memorial, with hopes to commemorate this event and recall it once more, as it has been the case for the past few years, displaying our nation's intolerance to terrorism, as well as endorsement to all the efforts and measures taken by countries of the world to defeat the ever-developing anomaly of violence, political loathing and religion-based hatred. Federal agents, public servants, activists, paramedics, and police officers were all present at this great occasion. On behalf of the San Andreas Police Department, I would like to express my gratitude to all the parties that made this possible; most of us had the belief that this wouldn't have happened as long as the mayoral candidate, Mr Dentico, fails to appear in time. In contrast, employees of the San Andreas Police Department carried the initiative to host it instead: one of the key things that made this event unforgettable.

Opening speech: (presented by Supervisory Officer Taseen Chowdhury)

We're here today to remember the terrible events of September the 11th 2001, in which four aircraft were hijacked and used against innocent civilians. Two of the aircraft impacted the south and north towers of the World Trade Center in New York, leaving hundreds of people trapped in the floors above with no escape. Another aircraft was flown into the west side of the Pentagon in Washington, which killed numerous people. Another flight, United 93 which was believed to have been targetting the Capitol Building or the White House. Due to the heroic actions of the passengers, the flight never made it to its target. 2,996 people perished on that day, making it the deadliest terrorist attack on American soil. Many stopped to help others, putting others before themselves. Specifically, the EMS, police and firemen that decided to climb into the burning twin towers. The buildings eventually collapsed, killing thousands of people, as well as a large number of firemen who so selflessly made their way inside. We're also here to remember the people, namely EMS, PD and firemen who are still suffering today, due to the large amount of the toxic chemical asbestos being released at the site, which reduced life expectancies. Several animals were also sent to the buildings, whose lives were also lost. Lastly, we're here to remember the many generations after the attack who have been left without mothers, fathers, grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. They're also still at a loss today.

The opening speech was followed by a minute of silence. After the minute of silence finished, officers and federal agents performed a ceremonial three-volley salute.

Closing speech: (presented by citizen Johan Soprano)

I would like to give my few words according to this memorial of the tragedy that changed the world. People lost their lovers on this day 14 years ago. My thoughts are for everyone who lost their people over there. May God give strength to everyone.
