Mini Test for New Cops?
« on: October 12, 2010, 04:32:45 am »
When a New Player Joins the Server, They go to LSPD/LVPD/SFPD and when they /duty they get on duty.

Heres my Idea, When New players /duty, A Mini Test comes up and You have to Answer Questions, and IT Explain some Rules about being a cop etc.

I think it would make Abuse go down a Bit.

Police Officer III Andrew Badden
Internal Affairs Investigator
San Andreas Police Department "to protect and serve"

I actually agree with this. Just today a new player asked inside the police department where the locker room was. Before I said anything, I explained some rules. Then he went on duty after 10 minutes of my explaining. Personally I think, it would be a great idea to have a set of rules for the newcombers, and it would be a great reminder for other cops that play regularly. Yes, I agree with the abuse going a bit down because the new cops will see those rules and follow them eventually.

From the post below..

10 ARPD Officers Commandments

1. Thou shall know the police codes..
2. Thou shall not shoot unarmed, non moving suspects.
3. Thou shall remember to follow the law.
4. Honor your fellow officers.
5. Thou shall not kill civilians.
6. Thou shall not commit crimes.
7. Thou shall not steal suspects
8. Thou shall not bear false witness using the /su command
9. Thou shall not covet your fellow officer's patrol car
10. Thou shall not covet money.

This is what should be the rules in the /duty. :D

I think a major problem is attention span. Some people just want to get out there because they're new and want to get a quick feel to what everythings like. This could scare away a lot of potentially good officers.

Here's the way I see it...

If this gets approved:
Pro - The ones who do get to /duty will be a bit better than those who didn't pass.
Con - As Sushi said, it may scare off so much potential

If this doesn't get approved:
Pro - People can come and go on duty as they wish.
Con - Nearly everybody, especially those people who aren't really cut out for the job, can get on duty and do whatever they please. The evidence of this is widespread.

The idea is not really needed as you can just teach and tell the people about what to do and so on. But it might work out good if they put it in to see how it goes. As though if they put I don't see why we can't maybe try it for a few days and see if it comes out good or doesn't help at all. As though some freecops would not even care to listen and still abuse sometimes but you can always teach them to make them better cops. But hey, maybe one day they will be a new Sgt, Lt, or maybe a Captain, you never know.
