Topic is LOCKED

The 'complaint' has been heard and may have done more damage than good but...

Time was given and to not log into the forum of your department to check on anything important is not a good sign.

Its not just things like ensuring officers are still interested, there will be MANY other things and they will be posted HERE on this forum, if you cannot make the effort then how will you know the rules and regulations for certain as they may have changed, in fact in the near future they WILL change...

Yes we are THE offical police department in Argonath, YES we allow you to RP, YES we require you meet certain standards...

I was able to daily check the forums at my previous job, since i was just sitting behind the computer all day, but now i got a job that doesn't involve computers at all. You can't expect from me that if i just want to have fun, i go online check forums first for an hour, then have 5 minutes left to join the server for a little fun.
Try sitting in front of multiple computers for 12 hours (with no outside connection) then coming home then sitting on front of computers scripting etc.... you have no excuse...  All it takes is a quick check on important sections, if nothing there then go play...

Hey Ryan, in one way I support you on this.
I had this similar problem, I didn't have access to the forums, or a computer in fact, as my PC had crashed.
I had tried to notify as many people as possible, but yet, I was fired for "Not responding to activity check, lack of interest".
I do hope some of these things are more considerate and flexible.

I see what message you are trying to pass on here, the problem is, those with genuine commitment in ARPD are sometimes ignored due to some other members that are generally inactive and we seem to get pushed out in the same flow.
I can't blame people for taking a little extra time, maybe with managing applications. But they must acknowledge that for us as well. We can't always be 100% active due to some reasons, unfortunately.

It's just too bad....  :(

We have a leave topic.
Also we have encountered enough times that when people say i will leave for some time they never come back. This brings unneeded work for the staff. And we rather like interested people that dont go online to watch cars go by and we rather not see people going inactive every week.
We want the forum to be a billboard, information board, regulation board and if something changes the forum is THE FIRST location this is stated. THATS why we like you to visit the forum atleast 1 time per 2 days, especially when your in a stage of applicating for SAPD or when your accepted to Cadet. These are critical times for the staff to see HOW active and how interested you are for joining SAPD.

In addition, as i said before, we have a freecop role on the server. If not able to meet SAPD standards and regulations, simply play as a freecop.
We have to stay professional and we need to be strict and not too flexible in order to not let things get out of hand and get unmanageable.

Thanks Car :)

But would you be happy that you were thrown out for not checking forums, and then have to wait again to re-gain something you actually already mastered?
I do not know if your drunk or what but before you where kicked out i talked to you about it and i thought we had an agreement about it.. Seems you totally ignore our conversation..

I apply for ARPD beceause it's a police division, police role play is something i like, but not in a 'scripted' way as being forced to use codes, procedures etc.
This is not about real officers, this is about role play and even that includes every role available.
Or how would ARPD respond when a mad wizard joins Argonath and tries to take him out?
Just shoot him?
You have to be opened for all styles of roleplay, not just the most 'realistic' ones.

You can still RP as a cop. Nothing stops you from being a cop.. Or have you become cop banned? ARPD is like any group who expect there members to be active, the definition of "active" can depend on person to person due RL stuff and other "duties" on and for the Argonath Community.. But you still should at least visit the forum from time to time to keep your self both updated and also show any sign of activity.. Be in the AR-SAPD is not like, "Look at me, I'm an Officer". It's more like a group that have fun togheter and helps new people into the big family i hope we can be even if not everyone have the same view of things.
The reason also why you join ARPD is cos you want to do some more "work", work at another kind of standard level then the more "free" one you have as a Freecop. You applied for SAPD,
we require you meet certain standards...
If you cannot meet them then why did you applie in first place?

We did not do like "This is all officers we have, let's split the list into 2 and kick one of the half.." All command staffs can confirm that one big list was made with possible Officer that where going to be kicked out due inactivity and etc.. But before that list was finished all Command staff had the possibility to inform what they know about them all so we know who is clearly not active and who is active. The stage after that was to kick those who had no comment's or as we saw totaly inactive, (both after checking FORUM ACTIVITY but also STATS on main site)..
The the list of unsure people have we started to contact but we still have many to contact..

Yes some people might have been active and shouldn't have been kicked out, But they can easy contact me with an forum PM and it can be sorted after an smaller investigation of the individual, if not contact have been made by the Officer who got fired then it just confirms his lack of interest..

I was able to daily check the forums at my previous job, since i was just sitting behind the computer all day, but now i got a job that doesn't involve computers at all. You can't expect from me that if i just want to have fun, i go online check forums first for an hour, then have 5 minutes left to join the server for a little fun.

So i still don't get why your moaning about that you got kicked out.. Seriously i don't...

Both Bianconeri and Thomas are doing a very good job with the applications even if they do not flood every application with "Your application is noted and you will be view the under a period." Maby we should introduce it to at least show we seen the application..

Yes i seen my self that we need more manpower to assist with the application and i have been viewing for a period on who i will hire to assist them with the Hugh work we have to just progress the application, not even mention the training and testing of Cadets.

But before we take action we want to be more sure that we hire the right people for the job and not hire random people who we have no trust to for such a responsibility..

Why dose it take long time for new players to get there application accepted?
For totally new players it takes automatic more time cos first of all they need to learn and get experience how the Argonath server works. By help from admins, citizens and cops they get that experience.
For "regulars" it depends on case to case..

At end, i totally agree with the points as we need more to help with the view the applications, but we are already working on it.. We have so far made a few small steps and we will continue do so in the correct direction to make it better for all parties.

But i still see parts of your statements as direct moaning and not as discussion..
