i would go there as officer since i am SACS:SRU i can patrol in LV and help with the surrounding area's

and if this gets set up and Ben comes we will have both high ranked SRU officers with the same dept as the buffalo's :D
It's not always about status or rank though. I'm proposing this so we have sufficient coverage. Even in the future if policies change, they can still be easily applied without issue.

After today, it has come to my attention that it is becoming a desperate issue. Today against 2 suspects...2 very good suspects...we chased them ALL over Las Venturas and back for nearly an hour. 1 died. 1 got away. No arrests made. We had dozens of LSPD, SFPD, and DPD officers in pursuit. We had countless roadblocks. Los Santos, the counties, and San Fierro were left nearly unpatrolled with the exception of about a dozen Freecops over ALL of the areas combined, and at most 3 or 4 officers/senior officers. This was during a normal, active day with more cops on than usual, and a light amount of criminals. Imagine how bad it'd be on a day the other way around. We should not have to reroute that far out of our way to assist in a city that has an unused PD.

Indeed Ben samiir would fit, he loves buffalo and high speed pursuits..
hmm, I like LV, perhaps i would fit

But it's not time to open LVPD yet, let departaments organize better.

I so badly wish to know what everyone plans on doing yet. The departments are not going to change any further unless other policies are set into place from ALL of ARPD, and right now none seem to be needed badly enough or they'd already exist. It's ridiculous not to open it now. It solves many current issues and makes it easier on ALL captains, including the one I mentioned for LVPD, to better control their departments.

Bayside = DPD <3

i though that was SFPD /me goes to look at the area map

It is, but technically speaking that's county area, and DPD is expected to cover all county areas...

It's not.
Bayside is Bone County and that's DPD =)

I dont see why LV needs to be opened yet, we dont even have the current SFPD or LSPD in working order, + we have DPD in the mix aswell.
if anything should be done, Capt Jcctodds should be re-assigned with his whole DPD department and named LVPD.
then  SFPD will handle SF area + county,   LSPD will handle LS area + its countys and LVPd will handle its area + countys (bayside,ft carson, etc etc)

that should be what happens,  if anyone here wants to suggest we name more Capts or LTS and re-build up LVPd that be crazy right now.

and no we cant name current LTS to Capts or anything like that (me,matrix, wayne, bensamir, others would make good Capts but it be crazy to name us or anyone else for that matter)

only thing maybe would be to put Capt Kitsune in as LVPD Capt or something like that. but  really to re-do the and have to fill postions @ LVPD would be 2 much for us when  LSPD n  SFPD  needs to be worked out and fixed.

To be honest, thats not a bad idea. I am even thinking these big departments can have smaller departments within them run by Sergeants or a Lt.

i agree with my own statement, and jake issue is  there no reason we need to name a current LT to a CAPT spot just to fill LVPD, we need to get rid of DPD and make DPD into LVPD with all same people, as is whenever SF is empty, most SFPD officers go into countys or LS to patrol, so it doesnt really matter if DPD in affect, if LV is dead, there heading to LS or SF lol.

Get rid of DPD? Nooo!  :D  Well, LVPD was my first choice, and Fort Carson second. It makes more sense I suppose. LSPD takes Red County. SFPD takes Flint County and Whetstone. LVPD takes Bone County and Thierra Robada.

Although this might be better in the long run, it would require quite a bit more work than simply putting someone in charge of LVPD.

Bayside is Tierra Robada. ;)

Currently Bayside is in SFPD Jurisdiction mainly, since DPD has such a giant patrol area (which surrounds SF). So it is covered by both DPD and SFPD.

Umm... What about DPD in charge of Red County, Angel Pine Sheriff in charge of Flint County, and El Quebrados along Fort Carson Sheriffs in charge of Bone County? I think that'd significantly reduce the underusage of these police stations.

The sheriff offices could be under DPD command, too.

problem is everyone wants an LVPD staff in place,  i feel DPD staff is all transffered into LVPD and thus  DPD is eliminated and then basically this

LVPD - all areas of LV to tierra robada area / tunnels into bayside

SFPD - all areas of SF to bayside and down to flint county weed field/gs10

LSPD - all areas of LS to LV/LS bridges and LS/SF flint bridges and all areas boarder of bridges/water

then with the deadness of SF n LV at times, there would be enough staffing to cover all areas in question from ft carson to red county to angel pine to bayside and so on.

also we dont need to create any more command staff postions,

Interesting

Very much so. But I don't want to be transfered to another department in the event that posistions open up. I would like to stay LSPD. Hell its the only place I patrol.   :cop:

Turning DPD into LVPD? thats worwse in my opinion,

LVPD, LSPD, DPD and SFPD, but not DPD into LVPD, LVPD would earlier be fitting for something else, like overflows of sergeants, lt,s senior officers in all other PD's currently, to stabilize it a bit, sergeants and all these previously named ranks will be placed to LVPD in case of overflow.

if LVPD were to be filled by other ranks, we then need to make sure there a fair and balanced picking process

That's exactly what I said...

@Blinky: There is heavy overcrowding, which is a huge reason why the departments aren't working. Aside from that, there AREN'T any issues that we can fix. Even if people were removed due to quitting/retiring, corruption/being fired, etc., there is still no way that there would be enough people removed to solve that huge issue. That's why I keep suggesting this. It solves many of the problems of other departments, AND it provides Las Venturas with a working police department, which is much needed right now. We can't do much to solve these issues any other way.
Regarding the fair and balanced picking process, I understand that and I agree as well. That is why when I randomly chose those people for an example, I tried to create a balance between SACS/SASD/other group members, as well as their friends, and tried to get people that know the areas, and/or are active, etc. among many factors. Like I said though, it's just an example, but overall I truly believe it needs to be done. The staff needs to stop putting it off. There's not much else that can really be done right now. That is why things are continuing the way they are...
