Indoor Assault Training
« on: April 22, 2010, 21:14:46 pm »
Disclaimer: This is just me expressing what I think and what I feel; If in any way this has offended anybody, please understand that my intentions are to give ideas and I give my humblest apologies to those who I may do wrong.

As I've seen in my 2 months as Argonath Player and a member of the ARPD, we are woefully lacking in trainings, moreso regarding Indoor Assaults (Barricaded Suspects, then we go Inside). Take for example the latest Barricaded situation I got myself into, one Officer threw caution to the wind, ending in him getting a facefull of buckshot from a well-placed Shotgun Round. And as far as I know, more than One Officer was downed by the 3 suspects.

Communication is also messy, with some people not paying attention to the Commanding Officer's orders.

As I've noticed also, there is no one single effiecient way of doing things that Officers agree upon, we have to make suggestions about what to do whilst in the scene rather than having a universally agreed plan that everyone automatilcally. How to move, how to shoot, knowing when or what or how. All the little details about how to pull off such a feat aren't talked about or even trained.

Yes, I know that SWAT is the specialist on this type of thing but remember that they won't always be there to handle the situation. We need to stand firm and be able to do it on our own, for both the SWAT and Police's good.

As of now, I'm going to train under one of the people in this server who has IRL experience with things like these. After an indefinite amount of time, I and this friend of mine will freely give this type of training to any ARPD Unit willing to join.

This idea was brought upon my Training Experiences from DPD and the SWAT Killhouse, it really opened my eyes and I honestly enjoyed learning something that gives me an edge over the opponents.

If you have any ideas/ comments/ suggestions/ critiques/ questions/ anything that's constructive AND NOT JUST COMPLETE AND UTTER FLAMING, please do post them as this is a idea-in-progress. I'm doing this as I go along.

P.S. JayL, you know what I'm talking about

P.S.S. Tom, let's hope this works

Most of the time I'm entering WITH SAPD I usually die by friendly fire, not thanks to the criminals. If over 9000 cops enter it becomes a clusterf**k. The most effective way to enter is by groups of 4-5 so the first group can cover the second after entering. I've seen about 14 cops entering when I was a criminal and most of them just ended up dead without being able to take one shot due to the cops in front of them being morons.

There is a reason SWAT does not want SAPD units with them in assaults. The last time we had a SWAT/SAPD assault, we couldn't do any formations because SAPD was all over the place, some of us even got our armour shot down by OUR units. We literally had to wait for the SAPD units to die or exit the building before doing anything.

For some reason the people in charge of a situation thinks clusterf**king is a great-f**king-idea.

Officers NEEDS to be trained in how to act during 207's, barricaded suspects situations and Code Purples. What most people are doing is just f**king stupid.

I want ALL of you to drop the "I can return when I die" attitude and play as if you can't.

Feel free to contact me for any information.

SWAT guys, you cannot fully blame reguler SAPD members for the mistakes taken upon by Rambo Freecops either.

If a freecops does not want to lisen to my orders during a situation and goes in guns blazing, that is all them.

If its an Officer though, they definitly need to head off to training.

Not only freecops. More often we get shot by SWAT wannabes who happen to be officers+. I've seen most freecops actually listen to orders when you talk to them like a friend not shout at them.

Then they will attend training for their respective department. I have been planning to organise such a thing within LSPD.

You can consult/confer/coordinate with either me or (In Game) Officer [CSt] Tom_Hate regarding tactics related to this. He's the guy I'm wanting to train under with. He says he has IRL experience, so I guess you can talk to him :)

We really want to see ARPD Members, especially LSPD, LVPD, SFPD, DPD* members training for situations like these. Makes the next situation at I9 Motel run a lot smoother.

Looks like we got some peoples' attention, hope this training becomes a reality :)
