San Andreas Traffic Police, Cop speed check!
« on: April 25, 2009, 12:14:55 pm »
Greetings, ARPD, SAPD,

as Sheriff of the San Andreas Traffic Police, i come to announce that we are planning a major cop speeders -case. All ARPD cadets, officers and higher ranked, had there chance to show they can follow the traffic laws and be an exemple for the State of Argonath. We were able to reduce the amount of speeding Police Units, but still the number of speeders is to high.

We do'nt give a time period in wich we will check speeders. I only announce it starts now, so be adviced.
depening on your rank you get an amount of warnings before you get fined.

To all ranks starting from Cadet, If you REFUCE to pay the fine! You will get reported to the commanding staff of the SAPD department!

are you planning to check cops, or did it finish?
in first you say we will do, and later, we have seen lots of cops speeding as a result of it

anyway its good to check police speeders, we should follow limits also,
and the higher your rank is the less warnings you get (i think you mean that)

I love the idea of enforcing the speed limit for Police, but sometimes we have to run quick without using lights and siren.

Lights and Siren can only/should only be utilized when running to an emergency, usually when there's a physical threat. So if someone makes a traffic stop on someone you know personally to shoot at officers or run, that's not a good enough reason for Code 3 response, BUT you want to get over there as soon as you can to make SURE that Officer has backup. It's not a Code 2 or 3, It's just a Code 1 response, but you know he might be in danger, so you have to get there... Quickly.

I do not believe Police should be enforced when responding to calls, whether Code 1 2, 2 1/2 or 3, however enforcing cops while just driving makes complete sense.

Code 2 1/2 is more of a joke that police departments in United States use. Code 2, basically means "Lights and Siren when Necessary", so when you're running lights without a siren, qualifies as a Code 3 response, however you cannot legally run your lights without operating the siren at the same time, therefore you're either Code 2-> Lights/Siren when Necessary, or Code 3->Lights and Siren, and henceforth Code 2 and a half, lights with no siren.

Complicated, but makes sense.. I mean, there's no Code 2 1/2 on Argonath because when your lights come on, the siren.wav starts playing too, so your either Code 2 or 3. Why did I explain all of this? Because on Argonath, you may be responding Code 2 to a call, which, you would not be using lights/siren, and then get pulled over. :help:

[Long text]

We pull them over, and ask them for the reason. If they have no valid reason they get a 200$ fine.

We don't usually have speed traps :(

I see even SAPD officers speeding, without warning code 2 in radio, but i won't report them :P sometimes it can be a mistake or something.

Too True, we dont stay somewhere to do a trap, then /speed and report... We are the SATP = San Andreas Traffic Control, All must follow the rules, so all will be checked [Excluding Chiefs]... Better pay the fine, or get reported...  :ban:
