Official Medals: Explanation

I'm working on re-organising our showroom and while that is going on I thought I would receive feedback on the police awards system.

This is the current setup. If there are any suggestions please post them up.


Progress Award


Awarded to those that bring about great advancement and help grow the VCPD as a whole.


Medal of the Life Saver


Awarded to those that have saved a life (civilian or officer) in a genuine RP situation.


Medal of the Experienced Officer


For members of the Vice City Police Department who have demonstrated a wealth of experience.


Field Experience Medal


Awarded to those that display particularly high abilities in skills including combat and marksmanship.


Meritorious Community Service Medal


To recognise those that have contributed to the Vice City community in one way or another.


Meritorious Police Service Award


To recognise those that have contributed in a positive way to the Vice City Police Department.


2009 Oscar Awards Medal


A special medal which was given to those that assisted with the official Argonath Oscar event of 2009.

Any suggestions?


There's one medal that is coming out shortly. Most organisations and even countries have in the honour systems something to recognise people who've gone well beyond the call of duty and done something really darn awesome.
This is going to be our version of saying thanks, it'll be something unique.

Here's a model I built up, any suggestions of change are appreciated like changing the color scheme. Was thinking at first of using one closer to the actual medals [Green and Gray/White] but, to make it unique, made a blend of Vice pink and PD blue.

Haha that's sweet, and funnily enough not far from what I was designing.

I was thinking of a dark blue/cyan-white colour scheme (gives it that regal look), and where you put the palm tree a 'V' which could stand for Vice City, VCPD, veteran etc.
