Show off your medals
« on: March 10, 2014, 00:25:36 am »
Everyone likes medals, right? They're shiny and make you look better... what's not to love? : P

I have seen a lot of people displaying things that they've been awarded in their signatures, reports, operation messages and desks.
That's perfect - you've worked/played for it - however, what's the use if people don't understand/bother too much about what the little ribbon bar represents?

To visitors and a vast number of people from other departments, your medals are likely to be alien and no different to any other image.
So, why not give more meaning to them by using this simple code? It enables you to annotate images so that when you move your mouse over them they'll show a message. You can use this to say what the medal is and give more information. (You can check my signature to see this in effect)

Code: [Select]
[abbr=Name of medal/annotation][img]medal's picture[/img][/abbr]
Example:

Code: [Select]
[abbr=Medal of the Life Saver][img width=105 height=29]http://i1325.photobucket.com/albums/u629/LX1234/MLS_zpsf6571eb4.png[/img][/abbr]
Code: [Select]
[abbr=Meritorious Service Medal][img width=105 height=29]http://arpd.argonathrpg.com/images/ranks/pmsm.jpg[/img][/abbr]
Code: [Select]
[abbr=MPD Community Service][img width=105 height=29]http://i1288.photobucket.com/albums/b481/ivmp_lcpd/awards/communityservice.png[/img][/abbr]

I actually did that with my old desk, unfortunately it's disappeared off my computer. So those who can still see my desk (lol is it even still there) can hover over and look.

SAPD members should priorize roleplay and attempt to discuss when a situation happen. Coming with weapon drawn and aiming at everyone won't be tolerated.

Try this. : )

You can also use this method to annotate photos on your officer desk.
Loads of text can be hard going on the eyes. Those that want to find out more info can simply hover over the photo/badge/medal to get extra.
