SAPD Interview Request: Fiddlesticks

Do you have any previous names?
No

What is your current timezone?
GMT (London)

Are you able to follow the chain of command and take orders from superiors when required?
Yes

Do you agree to follow SAPD Rules and Regulations and the Argonath Constitution?
Yes

What are your greatest strengths and weaknesses?
My strengths are that I can take orders and have an analytical mind, this would help with fast time/real time investigations of crimes that occurred in Argonath. I also abide by the victim first philosophy, of making sure offenders are punished and brought to justice but also ensuring the victim is cared for and the punishment and method of dealing with the offences is appropriate to the offence.

My weaknesses are I often like to do more than I am capable of, and I also struggle to remember the various codes used on the radio.

Why do you wish to continue progressing in the SAPD?
I am currently an officer ((having taken the exam in game)) and would like to formalise my position, and in time gain rank and help craft the future of the organisation going forward. I would also like to take part in the wider range of role play positions available through being a member of the SAPD, such as SWAT.

Do you have any specific skills and/or previous experience with law enforcement?
I go on duty most days and try to get involved in some incidents when I do this, seeing how others perform and trying to pick the best methods out from all of it. In a recent kidnapping of an officer I followed the suspect car with the victim in it in a helicopter and provided a pursuit commentary over the radio so officers on the ground knew which direction they had headed in, and were updated when sadly the officer was murdered.

How would you handle an irate citizen?
This would be dependent on what they are irate about - in the first instance I would attempt to persuade them into calming down, and asking if I could be of any assistance to them, if this didn't work I'd then advise them, for example 'Sir/Madam, it might be in yours and everyone's interests if you calmed down and listened to me.' If this failed I would then warn them about their conduct, and look about resolving their anger using criminal means. This is called the 'persuade, advise, warn' approach and is effective in all public facing roles, I have found it very effective when dealing with citizens in the past.

Have you been in an emergency situation where you provided assistance to other agencies or civilians? Tell us how.
Recently there was an officer in the SAPD who was kidnapped, lots of units were required and I made my way from LSPD to Flint County, and followed the suspect car from the air, providing a running commentary such as when another suspect abandoned the kidnapping and tried to escape, as well as when the suspect car crashed into water with the officer in it. I was able to provide updates to the other officers that the kidnapped officer was safe and well, and when he had been executed.
I have executed countless traffic stops where offences are committed and dealt with the persons I've stopped in a courteous manner.

Anything else you wish to let us know before your interview?

Signed,
Fiddlesticks
