ARPD is professional...
« on: December 28, 2008, 11:02:48 am »
Yes, the title already says: the ARPD is professional.
Still the most guys talk like this for example: r u in tha car? (are you in the car?)
Also on /r: U1A2 r doing a traffic stop at ....

This is in my eyes a bit unprofessional, and i like to see all talking normal if you are on duty.

Please how you think about this....

Agree..

BUT,
When you need to type fast it's better to type 'PC language' than typefaults (like me).

agree toven,
sometimes in chases you are alone,
you dont got time too report it on /r else you will lose suspect,

so in cases with low time its better too type in PC language

True... but mostly its even at patrol reports: We r patrlling LS
and at pull over: Can i see ur licnse?

[[ at license and patrolling i forgot the E and O on purpose ]]

So... just if you have time, type good and correct English. :)

I can't understand short english either.
We should start reporting cadets and above, who use short english.

For one, it's some people who do not understand English perfectly. There's no need to "report" Cadets and above who aren't talking "correctly" on the police radio. The radio is for communication whether the grammar is correct or it isn't. As long as you can understand it and it isn't just some random letters it's completely fine...also as mentioned above during police chases while driving it's not the easiest thing to press T /r [text] while trying to not fall into the water, smash into a lamp poll, flip over a bump in the road, swerve the car a wrong direction, or get shot so take in mind next time you are being gang banged that you don't put an apostrophe in they're or forget a capital letter. Traffic stops are one thing, trying to get the message across to save your life is another.

Radio communication during chase - TeamSpeak!
Under fire at somewhere - TeamSpeak!

I still don't understand, why so less people use it.
But still, police radio is needed too.

Not everyone has a microphone, not everyone has a good pronunciation even though having good English when typing.

You need to get adapted to people and the environment - not them to adapt to you.
