More usage of teamspeak.
« on: January 21, 2016, 18:16:19 pm »
Me and most officers find using teamspeak an easier usage for pursuits and such, to update on locations and such. I think VCPD officers/cadets and other divisions should also use teamspeak regularly, if they don't want to use it, atleast have some fair reasons for that. Thats just my suggestion I guess.

No one will be forced to go out of their comfort zone. Teamspeak will never be a requirement for VCPD members.

It should be a requirement to atleast listen. trust me, it greatly improves performance.

There is a reason we have /r.
I understand that spoken communication can aid in given situations but as Kessu already said it won't be a must.

I fully agree with Kessu and Klaus here. If there's something i always fought against is forced TeamSpeak usage for police officers, in any server. I deeply hope the VCPD nowadays do not turn into the San Andreas-based department and force players to use outer modifications and such in order TO BE ABLE AND EVEN CONSIDERED to achieve new ranks or join special divisions.

TeamSpeak should be in all cases be the secondary, optional way. The primary and ESSENTIAL way of communication is the in-game radio.

Teamspeak isn't a requirement. There are advantages of using it, but it's not really a big thing if people can manage to update the radio as frequently as they can / must do.

Like the other veterans here already said, I'm of the opinion that TS should not be a requirement. Officers already have enough on their plate to handle, another requirement is going to make joining VCPD even less appealing to new players that want to participate in organized police roleplay and gain experience meanwhile.

However, you're free to call your fellow officers over to TS and get something more-organized going on if they're up to it. Just remember to communicate with non-users as well  ;)

Fair enough. But the teamspeak channel is rarely used anymore, its been like what? 4 months since someone switched to it? Making more use of it would be nice.

You can use it, and you can call people to it, but we will not require it :)

We in San Andreas PD never forced anyone to use ts and we will never will. We suggest it to our officers as a secondary part of the police duty communication. The primary one is ofc /r. Adding ts to your communication doesn't harm anyone or either it doesn't kill /r.

Yeah, you are right, i didn't need to use TS to do a good work at SAPD back at times - I spoke specifically about the elite divisions such as SWAT, pursuit units and such. They NEVER used their CB channels as the primary way. I can say that as i have been through this - If you do not use TeamSpeak, your chances are pretty low or zero.

What Kessu said. It is entirely everyone's choice if they want to hop on TeamSpeak or not. Hell, they can even use something else other than it if they want to.
We shall go on to the end.
We shall fight on the ground.
We shall fight on the seas and oceans.
We shall fight with great confidence and with great strength in the air.
We shall defend our county whatever the cost may be.
We shall fight on the landing grounds.
We shall fight on the fields.
We shall never surrender.
