Internal Affairs Division - Report a supervisor


The Internal Affairs Division's goal is to investigate corruption and misconducts of the San Andreas Police Department personnel, whether they're field related or office related. The Internal Affairs Division investigators works to ensure the existence and following of the procedures set by the department, and CPR (Courtesy, Professionalism, Rrespect) by the department's personnel.

A supervisor, from rank of Sergeant and above, can be investigated by the division in case of breach of the procedures set by the department and it's divisions. In order to ensure the fairness of the outcome and the integrity during the process of investigation, the Internal Affairs Division has set the following requirements and steps to follow in order to report a supervisor:

Handling suspensions:
Suspensions are done upon evaluation of the suspending officer, and can be appealed by the command itself. If you've been suspended and do believe it is not fair, whether the suspension itself, or the time given to you, you should contact the suspending officer himself, in case of failure, you are to contact the higher rank than him, following the chain of command (i.e: Sergeant ► Supervisory Sergeant; Lieutenant ► Captain). Personnel within same rank bracket of the issuing officer may not appeal your suspension.
You're required to think and collect as much information as you could before attempt to appeal a suspension. An appeal can turn to be successful and unsuccessful, and is up to the handling officer to give the call. Time waste suspension appeals may lead to an additional disciplinary action.
If an appeal turns to be unsuccessful, and you still do believe that the suspension is not correct, you may contact the Internal Affairs Division using the complaint form by the reception desk ((Forms button on top)), and your situation shall be investigated.

Reporting a supervisor:
Following these steps to ensure the fairness of the outcome of the complaint, your complaint is considered as valid:
  • Sergent ► Supervisory Sergeant: Following the basic complaint steps, as explained in the "Officer Misconduct Complaint" topic.
  • Lieutenant: You're required to forward a letter to the Commanding Officer of the Internal Affairs Division, providing: Your full name, your phone number, date and time of incident, explanation of incident, and evidence of the incident. The complaint will be processed normally by the Internal Affairs Division, however it would have more restriction on who would be able to receive the complaint and see the content. Members eligible to handle the complaint: Internal Affairs Division - Commanding Officer, Captain and above.
  • Captain: You're required to forward a letter to the Commanding Officer of the Internal Affairs Division, providing: Your full name, your phone number, date and time of incident, explanation of incident, and evidence of the incident. The complaint will be processed normally by the Internal Affairs Division, however it would have more restriction on who would be able to receive the complaint and see the content. Members eligible to handle the complaint: Internal Affairs Division - Commanding Officer, Deputy Chief and above, Federal Bureau of Investigation (SAPD Liaison).
  • Deputy Chief: You're required to forward a letter to the Commanding Officer of the Internal Affairs Division, providing: Your full name, your phone number, date and time of incident, explanation of incident, and evidence of the incident. The complaint will be processed normally by the Internal Affairs Division, however it would have more restriction on who would be able to receive the complaint and see the content. Members eligible to handle the complaint: Internal Affairs Division - Commanding Officer, Chief, Federal Bureau of Investigation (SAPD Liaison).
  • Chief of Police: You're required to forward a letter to the Commanding Officer of the Internal Affairs Division, providing: Your full name, your phone number, date and time of incident, explanation of incident, and evidence of the incident. The complaint will be processed normally by the Internal Affairs Division, however it would have more restriction on who would be able to receive the complaint and see the content. Members eligible to handle the complaint: Internal Affairs Division - Commanding Officer, Commissioner, Federal Bureau of Investigation (SAPD Liaison).
* In case the Commanding Officer of the Internal Affairs Division is involved, or is the reported officer, you are required to follow the letter to the Command member, as explained in the above list, following the said ranks.
*Federal Bureau of Investigation is contacted by the Internal Affairs Division and/or SAPD Command if needed. Complaints of the SAPD personnel may not be forwarded to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Complaints against Captain and plus may be forwarded, however it is not recommended.
