Unknown Date | Impound complaint
« on: July 03, 2019, 17:24:20 pm »
Report against: Unknown (officers responsible for impoundment of 4 vehicles)

Name(s) of those reporting: Jo_Renjiro

Reasons: Improper impoundment

Evidence: As of today, the 3rd of July 2019, I am the owner of two vehicles:
- Maverick VC-C876,
- Infernus VC-C915.

Earlier in the past, I was also a de facto owner but not user of these two cars: Stinger VC-C868, Cheetah VC-C87.

Those cars were impounded. The Cheetah and Stinger are now gone, having been 'crushed' for going over the deadline of being parked at the impound lot. These is my question to the VCPD:

why was I not notified of the impoundings?

I was out of country and no information regarding the seizure of my vehicles were forwarded to me or at the very minimum - made public. How am I to know that the car is impounded if the police does it in secret without informing anyone?

This notice board exists, yet remained unused: http://arpd.argonathrpg.com/forum/index.php?topic=40287.0

I had no way of knowing that the vehicles were impounded and the police made absolutely no effort to inform me. In fact, I discovered this on my trip to Vice City around 2 days ago..

I would like for my two crushed cars to be granted back to me, or at least the cost of them be reimbursed..

Hi,

VCPD are not obligated to notify the owner when their car is impounded. It is the owners' responsibility to take care of their vehicles and if impounded, to contact the VCPD to pay the fine. If you decided to leave the country for an extended amount of time, you should of parked it in a more suitable place, such as a car park.

Thanks,

Vice City Police Department

Hi,

even if it's a bit anticlimactic, I understand and surprisingly find myself to be in agreement with you.

However I must exercise my rights, and per this, would like to see evidence of my vehicles being in breach of parking regulations.

Evidence of each parking violation that leads to an impound is hosted in the VCPD database. You have the right to request evidence of your vehicle being in breach of parking regulations and it will be provided to you.

Hi,

According to Auction reports, your cars were parked at Private Property #1, Starfish Manor, Starfish Island. The building was abandoned and later auctioned by the State on October 6th, 2018. It was at this point, that the state requested your cars to be impounded.

Thanks,

Vice City Police Department

Yes, I understand that my building was auctioned. I would, however, like to see the evidence of my vehicles being in breach of parking regulations.

Hi,

Proof of auction can be found here: http://www.argonathrpg.eu/index.php?topic=125254.0

As the impound was requested by the State, we are in no way required to keep any report ourselves. You'll have to contact City Hall if you wish to find those responsible.

Thanks,

Vice City Police Department
