User error. You did something wrong when you modded your siren, and no, it's not usually Vista. It's usually a user's lack of understanding of the new OS, and their lack of actually looking up the issue to learn how to resolve it so it doesn't happen again. I've been using Vista and Win7 fine for years. I was one of the first people to get my hands on Vista when it came out at midnight that night. I've had no problems with it at all.

Any programs you run, run them as an administrator. Vista/7 have locked down permissions on specific paths to prevent hackers and malware from corrupting your files.
