Thats a military rank, not a police rank...

Actually no It is not just a military rank... I hate to burst your bubble on that one. There are many police departments in the United States that use the rank of Corporal "CPL" It is one rank above Officer(OFC) and one rank below Sergent (Sgt). It is essentially the same thing as a senior officer. A little bit of research can go a very long way... Don't just assume because you have never heard something it isn't true.

CBF is half (well, mostly) correct...it is mainly associated with the military, but always as an NCO rank  :)
In Britain I know that the RAF have it, as do the Army.

Yes. Corporal is mainly concentrated on military and state police.

Yes. Corporal is mainly concentrated on military and state police.
Correct. Very few departments use it. I know Sacramento PD does in their academy, but they don't in their field/desk ranks.
