Paul - you should return the chat box! :D
What chat box?

There was a chat earlier. Such as is present on the Argonath Forum.

Oh, I think that was dropped due to the amount of memory usage it took from the server, and it's lack of use.

It was used for a little while, but frankly it looked pretty ugly and wasn't all that useful xD

Argo is looking into possibly setting up an IRC network of it's own anyway, so if that happens, the chat on Argo Forums will likely be removed in it's favor since anyone could make and register their own channels then, including ARPD.

IRC would be spammed to all hell, worse then the public chat main game, but the idea of rooms would be pretty good as it would help groups organise and so on more easily, without needing to go on MSN or come in game.

The idea isn't just one channel. It's an entire network, meaning as many channels as the server can possibly support could be made.

If anything it was annoying when trying to actually get on the forum.   :help:

With the addition of the ads and already not so fast forum, it made it a little hellish.

The reasons why the forum is running a little bit slow is due to the following;

- Hosted advertisements by Azellus Gaming
- Database consists a large file of appropriately 409600 KB (400 MB) from last check
- ARPD domains are operating under a different hosting machine

Is it known how much it costs to host the forums per month or whatever intervals it is? If so, if donations were seeded enough, couldn't we remove the ads?

Advertising Club

Depends if Ronnel would like them removed.

However if you a Google Chrome user, you might want to use this plugin to help you avoid advertisements in websites and etc..

If the theme is edited to place it above the profile section, you may be able to get it working in a larger size, but it would require tweaking things on the theme for it to appear normally.

The logo is actually quite small on my screen. Though I have a rather large screen so it makes sense.
