Emergency Lights Mod
« on: August 06, 2011, 05:12:21 am »
Hello,

I had ELM before but everytime I install it, they menu doesn't show up when you press F11. Is there anyway to fix this or something?

Also if it's possible maybe someone can make a tutorial on installing ELM etc.

Thanks,
Rare

Yes and the menu won't appear when I press F11.

Try uninstalling it and reinstalling it again. ELM 9.1 is supposed to have an option that "installs" it, and another that "saves" the settings you make after installing. Make sure to install it before "saving" anything.

If it's just a blank menu, then you are missing the text file associated with it. Reinstall to repair it.

Can you upload the text file please?

Save the cleo install file into your main san andreas directory and then reinstall your ELM mod. I had this same issue where you install it and it gives you the warning where it failed to over write a few of the key tools it needed to. So I saved it to my main GTA SA directory and it worked fine. So make sure you save the INSTALLER into your directory and run it from there, and it should hopefully work.

If you are on Vista/7, just run it as an Administrator through the right-click menu and that should solve that issue with copying permissions.

I had tried that and I didn't work. So feel free to try that, and if it doesn't work still try out my idea.

Run ELM 9.1 as administrator and install it (it should ONLY give 3 errors, click "ignore" on them), then if you're missing the menu IG there should me a file called "american.gxt" in the ELM folder. Copy paste it to the folder called "Text" in your game directory. That should solve the problem.

This works if your running ELM alone, I had this problem but I run ELM with the Illumination mod, and TXD Hack. When those 3 errors occured my game wouldn't open up. Once I had gotten ELM installed correctly, my game opened up and worked correctly.
