The /duty Bug
« on: June 18, 2008, 23:28:46 pm »
OK,
I think many of you know... There is (temporary) a duty bug...
It gives you unlimited bullets of (some) arms...

If we have thoose: WHAT DO WE DO?

reduty? relog? just tell an admin? nothing?

I mean, can we 'use' it?

EDIT:
read 'use' and not 'abuse' !!!!

personally i just use it,

relogging doesnt work too,

if you relog you get cadet skin again, so then i /duty for officer skin again and still got unlimited uzi/deagle/shotgun

dont think it mathers that much,
you just dont have to reduty anymore for bullets,

reduty doesnt help, telling too admin wont work(they say relog)

and like i explained relog wont help for offices too

Tovenaarke is right.
As long u Dont ABuse it, there is nothing bad bout this bug.. unlimited UZI is effective against those Sawn-offs, that are almost hated by every cop..
U should not abuse it when going off duty, and get unlimited shotgun ammo.
Happened to me once, Didnt shot with it, but i dont think anyone likes to have it when u know its illegal..
But i agree, its very effective against Suspects...

/kill work  :D,
Personaly, I use this when I am more bullet than the normal ammo ((when reduty, next ammo + new ammo)) but don't when I have realy too more ammo or unlimited ammo. I hope this bug will be fixed soon...

Nothing really gets rid of this bug at all, so just wait for it to be fixed I suppose and enjoy not having to visit the station after every fight with an suspect!  :cop:

i never use shotgun so that doesnt matter,

and uzi isnt that strong, usefull for drive by, but outside that i prefer deagle(good accuracy, and power)

but just use it when you still on duty,

if you are off duty and still have the weapons then dont use it,

(using nightstick wont hurt that much) but at least dont use the guns(abuse=ban)

but still, nightsticks are for cops, not for civilians, they can get themselves a bat or something

Yeah for me I usually just /kill if I logged in infront of LSPD or DPD etc. But I think that if you go on duty and get the unlimited uzi's then go off duty. Then /duty again It SOMETIMES gives you like 7000 rounds instead of unlimited. Usually I try and do that or /kill but most of the time it doesnt work. Guess use not abuse as you all said  :)

7000 bullets or unlimited bullets,

does that really matters?
personally i would never shoot that much bullets in my playing time(you get also crashes and all)

Due to the fact that this bug is so much of a problem, as long as you don't have unlimited or going into the thousands, there is no need to suicide.

reduty doesnt help, telling too admin wont work(they say relog)
All admins including myself that I see dealing with this bug on players tell them to suicide.

then you are the first ghost,

but what does it help?

before you run out of bullets you will be dead anyway(most of time, depending on sus)

but unlimited is more like 500 bullets, because you wont get over shooting 500 bullets

I agree with murderboy AND ghost..
U dont have to do suicide If u aint got to many bullets, but u better can /kill when u got unlimited.
I dont think if u DONT use the weapons OFF DUTY this isnt even nessesary, unlikely there are officers who doesnt keep this promise, wich make us have to do this.
I cannot shoot an entire deagle / uzi with 6000 bullets empty on a single duty, but actually its good to have more ammo, since a sawn off with only 10 bullets has 5 chances to kill you. 100 uzi bullets aint that much either if you have to drive-by, shoot sawn off- equipped suspects etc..

are we allowed to use this "bug" to get more ammo while on duty?

We must be able to because if not then that is crazy. Police officers don't supply their own weapons, the police station does, so the use of this bug to get more ammo while on duty should be allowed.

If it is a bug, it means you can't use it.

for me:  you can USE, not ABUSE.. i mean on duty you can use your weapons, but using them off duty or breaking rules with them is lame

Any use of bug to get more ammunition is abuse so NO, you are not allowed to do it on purpose.

i think we should be allowed to just use it instead of suicide,

BUT! dont do /duty to get more bullets on purpose

i think admins should try to finish it, players get unnecessary banned by this,
and also the freeze when you /duty first time will get you more bullets too(because of reduty)

conclusion:
allow /duty bug weapons, but dont abuse /duty bug on puprose to get more bullets
