Lack of Training for Cadets...
« on: July 03, 2008, 14:52:46 pm »
OK, this is annoying, for around 1 month, I have been searching for training so that I can become an SAPD officer. I, personally have been through training before and have even been captain of DPD but to fulfill CBFASI's wishes, I will go through training again. The fact that no SAPD officer can be bothered to lift their finger and train a cadet beats me... I have asked time and time again and I have either not been replied to or have been told by the officer that I asked that they are too busy. I am trying everything to become an SAPD officer and it is really annoying when I see officers that are not as faithful to the SAPD  team as myself that have had this privilage. Another cadet that is in a similar position to me that I have spoken with is Hess and he agrees; so what I am saying is not bullsh*t. I would like someone of higher authority to do something about this.

Thanks,
Roadkill

Please take into consideration that officers are busy and have other jobs. Harrasing doesnt help.

considering the topic...i have some questions.

1.can some one tell me how much should i wait for the training?
2.shall i ask if there are any available officers who could train me?

i taught that trainers will contact us,cadets, and we shouldn`t "bug the trainers", but i saw some cadets asking for training.

Officers have been busy constantly for one month? I do not think so and I am not harrasing. Since this appeal, I have had two officers train me and one officer offer to train me. Chief Hank, Officer Matthew and Officer FlameMan. There are some really good cadets out there that will make fantastic officers. I know that if I was an officer, I'd love to train a cadet.

But everyone thinks the officers role is to train cadets, it isn't. Its an addition.

I never said it was an officer's role, but I would say that training cadets is another duty of being an officer.

A. It is part of their role to help train the cadets as Captains do the official trainings.

            B. Many official trainings will soon start up again - soon.

1. No time limit trainers will contact you when they think you are ready.
            2. Of course you can. Officers should be out to help train cadets as well as do normal duties, just don't bug them.
So yes the official trainers will contact you but Cadets can ask Officers to help train them. The officers then post the results in the Cadets application.
Hope I cleared a little up.

yes, thank you.

i read on this forum that "cadets shouldn`t bug officers about training" so i taught i shouldn`t even ask for training. situation clarified.
Thank you again.

The bugging is really the repeated asking, like 4-5 times in an evening at the same person

We had a really nice training session today.
Big thanks Chief Rafferty and Officer Plingolas for conducting this training session today.
For everyone who wasn't there, Chief Rafferty rallied around 7-8 Cadets at the DPD today and conducted
an extensive training session with the help of Officer Plingolas today.
I think we all had a lot of fun and learned quite a couple of new things :D

cadet toto, you have to make a topic in the SAPD applications section.

here http://arpd.argonathrpg.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=34&board=41.0
using this http://arpd.argonathrpg.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=34&topic=1050.0

unfortunately i read somewhere that the applications are frozen, so there will not be any accepted applications

Im a big supporter of patrolling with cadets, as it learns them more cop RP, and is easier to keep them out of trouble than if they were patrolling on their own. Most cop DM is from bored cadets ...

Of course 4 ARPD members patrolling in a single car can be fun, but I would rather help other cadets... whats everyone else's view on this?

at all this:

-like said before: officers arent always free
-officer isnt a cadet trainer only, they do cop work to, and cadet training when they got time(almost same as first point)
-you can ask at /r if an officer is free for training, then maybe someone will be free to help you, and if not try again later

There is a change in the training part for cadets.

The Official training is given by Seargents and above.
The Official SAPD Officer test is given by Captains and above.

But ofcource u can still learn from Officers and get some tips from there experience and knowledge, dont be scared to patrol with them.

so officer dont train them anymore?
so we give results like shooting: 8/10??

if thats true, then its a big fall back for cadets, because there are not much serg and higher,
and they got more things to do, so are more busy
