RANKS & DESCRIPTIONS




STRUCTURE OF THE ARGONATH RPG POLICE DEPARTMENT (ARPD):


* = Department employs it's own SWAT team.

Please note: The SWAT Teams and FBI Divisions will have privileges and access to specialty equipment in each state they operate in, and will also have an advantage in weapons, tactics, and intelligence services.




ARGONATH RPG POLICE DEPARTMENT (ARPD) GENERAL RANKS:

ARPD Officer:
This is any player who has joined Police Duty in any Argonath RPG server. The ARPD Officer, formerly known as Freecop, is the lowest rank of the entire ARPD, although any member of any official Law Enforcement group in Argonath RPG also reserves this rank. ARPD Officers are only bound by the server rules, and not those of other official Law Enforcement groups. The ARPD Officer's duty is to patrol the streets and enforce the laws, fighting the crime that arises.

Other Ranks (different per department):
Between the ranks of ARPD Officer and ARPD Commissioner, players can join other official Law Enforcement groups to gain higher ranks, abilities, and knowledge in Law Enforcement within the United States Of Argonath. These are server-specific, and can be referenced in the server-specific sections below.

ARPD Commissioner:
The person in this role is the entire leader of the Argonath RPG Police Department. They are tasked with dealing with high-level corruption in each server's Command Staffs, integrating ARPD in new servers, and managing the ARPD as a whole, even above that of any Chief and/or Director. This person is selected by the President and/or Prime Minister of the United States Of Argonath, or anyone they designate to do so. The ARPD Commissioner is bound by all of the server rules, and that of any server they are currently playing in, and have the final word and actions over that of any Chief and/or Director, regardless of current protocols. The ARPD Commissioner is the highest rank within the ARPD, and is only granted to those who show great success, and the will to improve the ARPD as a whole within all servers equally.

THE STRUCTURE OF THE VICE CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT (VC:MP)




VCPD Cadet:
This is the law-abiding Citizen who has been accepted into the Academy and is learning, being trained, and will later be examined. If they pass the exam, they get promoted to the rank of Officer.

VCPD Officer:
This is the Cadet who successfully passed their exam and has been promoted to a full member and Officer of the VCPD. The Officer is starting to build up their career, and is the lowest rank of the VCPD, excluding Cadet. The Officer's duty is to patrol the streets and enforce the laws, fighting the crime.

VCPD Senior Officer:
The Senior Officer is an experienced member of the VCPD who has already built up part of their career in the Department, serving well and proving they are worthy to be promoted. They are above the Officer rank, being the lowest rank in the Senior Staff. They are supposed to continue with field work, and are also supposed to assist any member of the VCPD in duty situations.

VCPD Sergeant:
The Sergeant is an experienced officer who built up their career in the ARPD, and shows true dedication to their duties as well as full knowledge of the department's regulations. Being members of the Senior Staff, they can order Officers as they are higher ranked than them, but are not yet members of the Command Staff. They have higher responsibilities than the normal Officers (usually Academy-related), and are required to be active in field work.

VCPD Captain:
The Captain is a member of the Command Staff, but they don't have same powers as the Chiefs. The Captains can promote, suspend, demote, and manage a few parts of the Department with authorization of the Chiefs. Their rank proves they are capable enough of taking the command of the Department if the Chief and Deputy Chief are not available for long periods of time.

VCPD Deputy Chief:
The secondary lead of VCPD. They have the same rights as the Chief, and are the backup for the Chief in their time of absence. They can promote up to Captain, and assign leaders to the Academy Staff, if necessary.

VCPD Chief:
The head of the VCPD. The Chief is a highly experienced officer who manages the Department as a whole, being essential part of the Command Staff. Department-wise, they always have the final word in decision-making. The Chief also has the power to assist the SWAT commander with it's division and works alongside the FBI director, all three having their own tasks.




SWAT Operative:
The combat experienced and highly-skilled officers who are accepted into SWAT by the SWAT Commander. They are considered the best "fighters" of the VCPD, and are requested only in special situations. VCPD Officers or above are entitled to join SWAT.

SWAT Lieutenant:
An experienced SWAT member, Lieutenants know the ins-and-outs of their division and can be relied to provide tactical leadership/knowledge when needed. VCPD-wise, are members of the Senior Staff (either Senior Officers or Sergeants).

SWAT Commander:
The leader of the Special Weapons and Tactics division. The SWAT Commander has full rights to command the SWAT division, and has moderator rights for all SWAT boards. The Commander is a member of the VCPD Command Staff, and as such is a VCPD Captain or above.

SAPD Officer:
This is an Officer who has passed the in-game examination to join the SAPD and has basic knowledge for field operations..

SAPD Senior Officer:
This is an Officer who has passed through the SAPD academy and gained practical and theoretical knowledge throughout rigorous training sessions. Senior Officer's are expected to assist newcomers on the field and act exemplary towards others at all times. Officer's in this position are also eligible to learn new skills and acquire new interests by joining a division within our metropolitan unit.

SAPD Supervisory Officer:
Supervisory Officer's are expected to act as non-commissioned field leaders and as role models in the department. This Officer has gained a wealth of knowledge in the SAPD and has proven themselves capable of obtaining a supervisory position. Officer's in this rank are also expected to organize patrol events, shift briefings, and to take charge of situations while acting as a positive mentor towards other members of the force.

SAPD Sergeant:
The SAPD Sergeant oversees day-to-day operations within their specified command section. Sergeant's are expected to enforce procedure and promote it to the lower staff. The Sergeants must be active players who play daily. They must prove they are ready to become a "full time" Command member, and that they can reach the Lieutenant rank. If a Sergeant is not active or they have too many excuses for why they cant play, they must be returned to the Senior Officer rank. The Sergeant is a test and learning period to tell if the player is really capable of the job. The keyword here is "activity."

SAPD Lieutenant:
They are the "Administrators" of the San Andreas Police Department. They have power generally throughout the whole SAPD, but they must focus on their command section. They must be tested players who are very active and learned what it means to be a Command member. Their activity must not be questioned, and if they constantly search for excuses, they must be returned to the Senior Officer rank. An inactive Command member is an incompetent Command member, and has no use in the Command Staff.

SAPD Captain:
They are the "Managers" of the SAPD. They must handle large police events for the whole ARPD community, (eg. SAPD Organized Patrol). They have power over the whole state Department, and they have a word in any and all changes to it. This job requires heavy activity, and they are not allowed to stay away from their role for more than a month.

SAPD Deputy Chief:
The Deputy Chief consists of the Captains who have reached this level by proving they can handle this job, and who's judgment fits for the "Developer" role of SAPD. If a Captain is promoted to Deputy Chief, the upper Command Staff needs to promote a new Captain to fill that place. They are required to do police work almost non-stop, because the upper Command Staff is a full time job. This job requires heavy activity, and they are not allowed to stay away from their role more than a month.

SAPD Chief:
They are the main "Developers" and "Owners" of the SAPD, and the whole Department is in their hands. They can make major changes. If a player reaches this level, they must be fully trusted and competent, and they must be an accepted person by the community. They must not be unknown to people. The Chief's job is constant work, around the clock. The Server Owners have SAPD Chief rights, and the difference between a Server Owner and the SAPD Chief is the SAPD Chief must be active in-game, whereas a Server Owner does not.




SWAT Cadet:
This member of SWAT is under training, and is yet not allowed to lead the team, or operate without guidance. The Cadet of SWAT will be trained
to become an Operative, and perform under their own initiative and without guidance.


SWAT Operative:
Full member of SWAT, and is trained fully to lead the team when required and perform under their own initiative. They are the backbone of Special Weapons And Tactics.

SWAT Team Leader:
Highly trained, and able to train and lead SWAT. The SWAT Team Leader also helps administrate SWAT.

SWAT Supervisor:
Has Command rights to SWAT. The SWAT supervisor will make all important decisions for SWAT, and are the main administration of Special Weapon And Tactics.

THE STRUCTURE OF THE LIBERTY CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT (IV:MP)




LCPD Cadet:
This is the law-abiding Citizen who has been accepted into the academy and is learning, being trained, and will later be examined. If they pass the exam, they are promoted to the rank of Officer.

LCPD Officer:
A Police Officer performs basic duties such as: responding to the scene of a crime or an accident; interviewing suspects and witnesses; writing crime reports; responding to radio calls; monitoring any suspicious activity of ongoing crimes; coordinating vehicular traffic; visiting open businesses such as banks, markets, department stores, and service stations to establish a rapport with owners; booking suspects and evidence and transporting them to the appropriate Police Department facility; responding to citizens’ and visitors’ questions; and preparing Patrol Reports.

LCPD Senior Officer:
The Senior Officer is an officer that has been serving with the Department for a long time. They are considered to be the guiding light to other Officers, and are often the first to rush in when duty calls. They are assistants to the Sergeant, and overall an experienced form of a standard Officer.

LCPD Sergeant:
Much like a department manager, a Sergeant aids in management of or leads a specific shift consisting of Police Officers. A Sergeant is required to provide instruction to assigned staff in the operation of their required duties. The basic capacity of a Sergeant is field supervision, but administrative and specialized assignments are also available. Some Sergeants perform initial and follow-up investigation of crimes and perform surveillance work to detect or prevent crime. He also supervises a group of Police Officers and/or civilian employees and instructs them in the performance of their assigned duties.

LCPD Lieutenant:
A Lieutenant, being part of the Command Team, takes the task of general departmental administration. This includes handling of officer files and records, reinstatement and transfer requests, deliberations on departmental changes, as well as the expectation to conduct regular supervisory patrol. Who is the lower Command staff rank and is expected to perform outstandingly in both field and administrative duties.

LCPD Captain:
A Captain is responsible for inspecting and overseeing the functions of the patrol officers to ensure compliance with the Department policies, procedures, regulations, and standards; supervising the administrative and support functions personnel; inspecting personnel, facilities, and tactics for safety and/or training needs; maintaining liaison with numerous municipal, governments, civic organizations, and private citizens to establish and maintain rapport to facilitate Department functions and to promote neighbourhood safety and community policing programs.

LCPD Deputy Chief:
The Deputy Chief of Police keeps the Chief of Police informed of all operational activities on a day-to-day basis as well as directs the activities of either the administrative or operational side of the Police Department. Who takes the Chief role during Chief's absence and is responsible for smooth operation of the department.

LCPD Chief of Police:
The Chief of Police is the highest-ranking officer in the Liberty City Police Department. Who is the head of the Command and Upper Command Staff. Although the Chief always has the final world in decisions and manages the forum structure and has the administrative rights over the forum, Who is responsible for the efficient administration and planning as well as directing plans and coordinating their fellow officers. Their aims is to minimize crime risks across the entire city and to secure peace over the community through deployment of police units under their command.




N.O.O.S.E. Cadet: -
The National Office of Security Enforcement Cadets are the members who were invited to the N.O.O.S.E. team, who have been accepted in the team after filling an application, or have forwarded a Letter of Interest (LCPD Officers+ only). The N.O.O.S.E. Cadets do not have any role or duties besides preparing themselves for their entry talk through. After they pass their entry talk through, they will be a general member of N.O.O.S.E. and will be directed to one of the National Office of Security Enforcement's sub-divisions for further training.

N.O.O.S.E. Commander:
The N.O.O.S.E Commander is the leader of the National Office of Security Enforcement, and oversees the department. They also help with decisions made by their divisions staff. The Commander is deemed to be the most skillful of N.O.O.S.E. Operatives and the LCPD. They must master tactics as well as weapons and vehicles usage. They are not necessarily members of the LCPD Command Staff, however such situations are rather rare.

THE STRUCTURE OF THE FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION (VC:MP)




FBI Recruit:
FBI Recruits are VCPD members that have shown interest in joining the Bureau and have been accepted into the Academy for training after meeting the necessary requirements. While not de facto members of the FBI, they're bound by both VCPD and Bureau regulations. If qualified for passing the general assessment and training course, they're enrolled as a full-fledged Agent and receive a desk alongside the necessary guides.

FBI Agent:
FBI Agents are the main force of the Bureau, having been promoted after finishing their Recruit training successfully. They're expected to act in case investigations, field operations, intelligence gathering and assisting other Law Enforcement agencies when needed, as well as writing reports on their activities and keeping their desk up-to-date.

FBI Special Agent:
FBI Special Agents are veteran members of the Bureau that have proven to be capable, resourceful and successful, usually placed in leadership positions when assigned to cases. Their administrative tasks are limited to case/operation reports and desk work, and while they're not members of the command staff, their opinion on matters known to them is welcome.

FBI Director:
The Director is the highest-ranking member of the Bureau, overseeing all of it's operations and having the final say on every decision. He is capable of issuing warrants; creating, changing and removing Bureau protocols; overriding and reverting decisions made by subordinates; managing staff of all ranks and accepting or denying potential recruits. He is also a member of VCPD's Command Staff.

THE STRUCTURE OF THE FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION (SA:MP)




FBI Cadet:
Fresh recruits in the Federal Bureau Of Investigation whose job is to learn from their superiors. For this, they undergo training programs or briefings from the Command Staff until they complete their tasks and are ranked as full FBI Agents. Under certain circumstances, some specially qualified individuals may not need to pass through this stage.

FBI Agent:
These are Cadets who have completed their exams and lessons, and have been promoted to FBI Agents. They are assigned to daily tasks and usually work in pairs. There are three ways to attain this rank, namely: passing the Academy, invitation, or demotion.

FBI Special Agent:
Special Agents are the experienced FBI Agents who have earned merit after their work in the field, and are the FBI counterpart to the Senior Officers. They are allowed to lead subordinate Agents in operations, to give guidance to the Agents and Cadets, and to train members with permission from the FBI Command.

FBI Supervisory Special Agent:
As the title says, their work is to supervise agents. They have proved that they are an experienced veteran of the FBI. They help the Special Agents In Charge with their work. They can also train Cadets if they apply for the position and are accepted. They can destroy drugs, and must follow all orders from their superiors. They must do what they are told. They can also have a home, vehicle, or business that can be set for the Division's use.

FBI Special Agent In Charge:
The Special Agent In Charge supervises the agents in the Division. Their work is to ensure that every agent does their job well. They must inform the Division staff if the agents they supervise fail to meet expectations. They must obey Division Chief and Assistant's orders. Their job in the Division is to progress in investigating and full time work in the field. They do not have any power in Internal Affairs, and must do minimal administrative work. They are not considered Command Staff.

FBI Assistant Director:
The Assistant Director assists the Director and the Deputy Director with running the FBI. They have the same rights as the Deputy Director. Should the Director and Deputy Director become unavailable, the Assistant Director will be tasked with emergency powers until the situation is resolved.

FBI Deputy Director:
The second highest in the FBI after the Director, their primary task is to help the Director in managing the FBI. The Deputy Director is given emergency powers in the event something happens to the Director, becoming able to make any decisions except reversing those made by a superior. They have the authority to accept and train new Cadets, install new Agents after notifying the Director, and give advice to the Director whenever the latter requires it.

FBI Director:
The Director is the final authority in SA:MP FBI, answering only to the President, the Prime Minister, and the ARPD Commissioner. The Director has the authority to execute any decision in the FBI, the power to install and remove Commanding officers, to create or remove ranks, to lead the recruitment in the FBI, and to reverse any decision made by their subordinates. They can also create and dismantle projects, training programs, protocols, and other FBI standards.

THE STRUCTURE OF THE FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION (IV:MP)




FBI Cadet:
Cadets are members who have passed the proper examinations, and who are granted the right to follow regular members on their duties. They do not have the same powers as official FBI members, but they are still prominent members of Law Enforcement. During their field testing period, they are reviewed by members who are in charge of keeping in contact with them. This allows commissioned members to tell if the Cadet is ready to be promoted after the first period, or if they must undertake more periods before being promoted.

FBI Agent:
Agents are members who must complete a probation period. During this period, they have the same privileges and obligations as other members. They act officially in the FBI name, and are considered full members, with full access to the equipment and intelligence. At the end of their probationary period, they are reviewed once. If they possess the necessary skills and abilities, they are promoted to the rank of Special Agent. If there are still improvements that need to be made, the probationary period is restarted, and can be redone a few more times. If after repeated attempts the person does not show improvement, they will be dismissed.

FBI Special Agent:
Special Agents are considered full-time regular members of the Agency, having both succeeded in their Cadet evaluation and their Agent probationary period. They are given a permanent role in the force, and can be assigned with extra tasks if the situation requires it. Special Agents are members with experience, and are a precious asset to the organization. They are also the backbone of the FBI.

FBI Commissioned Agent:
Commissioned Agents are Special Agents who applied for commissioning, studied the necessary materials, and have submitted a thesis reviewed by their peers and Commanders. The Commissioned Agents are different from the Special Agents, as they hold an administrative role in FBI. They are allowed to directly train Cadets, take part in the recruitment process, and play a role in decision making. They have a word in nearly everything that happens in the Agency. Usually a Commissioned Agent is in charge of their own work shift, but they can also be in charge of special squads or units, depending on their preferences. The Commissioned Agents are the link between the field members and Command Staff.

FBI Second Commander:
The Second Commander's task is to assist the Commander with reviewing the agents, and to ensure all members respect the rules. They can also suggest ideas, and propose fixes to system. They are also entitled to submit a list of applicants worth recruiting. In the field, they have the very important job of being tactical leaders. The Second Commander also ensures the resources the FBI possesses are dispatched in an optimal way to achieve all priorities and objectives. They tend to work more in the field than the Commander. Their work is often linked with important operations.

FBI Commander:
The FBI Commander is in charge of developing the IV:MP FBI, accepting new agents, and disposing of those who are no longer able to serve the FBI. On the forums, the Commander is the main administrator of the FBI, able to make any and all decisions on ranks. In the office, they are responsible for making sure members are where they are supposed to be, and doing what they are supposed to do. The Commander is there to approve reports, meet with agents and staff, ensure the Agency is running as it should, and solve internal disputes should they should arise. In the field, the Commander is the supreme authority in matters of strategy, actions, and procedures. The Commander usually leaves these powers with lower ranked members of Command Staff, but will not hesitate to intervene in case he believes something has gone wrong or is out of place. He tends to be more or an adviser than a direct leader, and commonly gives indirect orders through the tasks assigned to the Commissioned Agents.
