Stepping down as Chief of Police - Mike Sangelo
« on: December 24, 2014, 08:11:55 am »
Evening all,

I have slowly left my associations with the Argonath community, and the SAPD is the last one. I am no longer able to sufficiently hold the position as Chief of Police within the SA:MP community due to my real-life focus on higher education and employment. Holding a position I am not able to adequately partake in would be counter-productive to the effectiveness of a forward moving organization such as the SAPD itself. Thus, Rusty Culver has been placed as the Chief of Police while I will be stepping down to a Command Advisor position to act in an advisory role for future and current command staff personnel.

During my time within the SAPD beginning in 2012, I was never concerned about trivial things such as promotions or medals, rather, a focus on ensuring that everything I did, was within guidelines, and that it left a positive mark on another person so that roleplay took not only the highest priority, but that it was integrated in everything that I did. Those interactions with other players and officers I worked with made being in the department enjoyable, and those connections I made within my time in the LSPD and SFPD made every minute great.

If I have worked with you in the past, I hope I was able to be an enjoyable person to interact with, while being communicative on a professional and personal level. While I always take a "by-the-books" approach on everything I say, I always appreciate just personal conversation with friends of the community.

While I have worked hard to shape the SAPD into molds of what the community expects and wants to see happen throughout the beginnings of 2014, many roadblocks came in the way. Despite my inability to bring about monumental change, I do hope I left a positive mark on those who I was able to specifically speak to and encourage, as well as my command team in which I worked alongside every single day. It is not easy stepping down from this position, but in order for real change to happen, we can't have ineffective staff occupying important positions. This is a step in the right direction.

If there is anything I can talk to you about, both about SA:MP, or personal matters, please leave me a message anytime. I hope to keep in contact with many of you here, and do not see this being a final goodbye, just another door opening while the one behind me takes a close.

One of the most respected individuals, that's the best way to describe you Mike. It's been an honor and a pleasure to have worked with you both in the past and the present. You have moved mountains for the SAPD and the vision in which is seeks now is because of the policies you put into place. Not to down play any of the work by former SAPD chiefs, but you have done more than your fair share of the work, don't ever under-estimate the work you have done and completed in the positions you have held. You're a great leader and I know where ever life may take you, it is going to be a successful journey. We may not have been the "closest" of friends, but merely acquaintances, it's truly been great knowing you. Good luck with pursuing graduate studies, and moving on with your life in the work force. I have no doubt you will be successful. Take care, don't forget to pop in and say hello every now and then, for once you can enjoy the game from a perspective standpoint rather than worrying about the stressful life as an SAPD Chief. I wish you all the luck! Happy holidays, be safe, and take care of yourself.

Regards,
SkyHawk

You were one of the most kind, respectful and friendly individual I had the honor to work with throughout the years. Your contributions to the dynamics of this department will never be forgotten and the memories we made together will never be lost. I know the foundation you built in this department will continue to flourish among all of us, especially the influence of your discipline, organization and professionalism. You always kept in touch with all of us even when you were at the most difficult and stressful part of your life, making sure the department runs smooth without chaos. You deserve my utmost friendship and respect, Farewell.

We will miss you. One of the men who cannot be forgotten as one to hold the rank, to me you'll remain known as the chief of the past.
A man who is widely seen as a friend, one you could talk to, and one that would always give you the right advice.
Here's to the future, to hope your career will flourish as much as you've shown here.

Farewell, and merry Christmas.

Like I have said in the past, you are one of the nicest people in this community and Argonath has been lucky to have you.

I am sorry that you had to face some hurdles which were nothing more than a cause for frustrating, things that should not have happened.

We will all enjoy your company here and in other areas whenever you are able to come by.

I wish you all the best Mike. :)

It was great working with you. I remember when you were new on the server back in 2010 when SACS and SASD were having their rivalries. The time when the good old days of Special Response Unit kicking ass and taking names. Most importantly the time when we first met in game. Instantly I knew you were going make an outstanding officer. I then decided to train you and give you the skills and knowledge to improve your in-game skills. In 2012 it was astonishing to me when you pinned the Chief of Police badge. Immediately I had an epiphany "Hey, I trained him when he was first new." Now after looking back it is an honor to be able to serve you and the SAPD.

(((((((I have trained many others a long the way during my career of the SAPD such as Sergeant Badandy, FBI Division Chief iMunna (Earl Montgomery), Senior Officer Mark Summers, Senior Officer [G], and currently training SAPD Officer Craig Rosso hopefully he will be successful soon. I have been training 1 officer every year thoroughly since 2009 who I think is dedicated and deserves to be part of the SAPD police force. So far they all turned out to be successful and made higher ranking than me. Don't get me wrong I am able to teach any new officer in the SAPD but these are the ones I have thoroughly trained.

September 22, 2009
My second application happened months after my first application and I was still immature but not as much as before, I was still making idiotic comments and sayings back then. I met Officer Tinman on my second application but back then he was Senior Officer Tinman. He helped me alot with trainings and made me a good cop. I was finally accepted into the SAPD Academy and I was happy as a jolly horse! I was trained by Tinman and Julian, Both are now current friends. The Academy closed and I lost my cadet rights, I started to go down hill from there and got mad at things.
))))))))

Chief Mike Sangelo I hope everything in the future works out well for you and wish you best of luck! Before I joined the USAF the thoughts of coming out of high school was real it really does hit a man hard in the face. I mean while you play Argonath RPG your real life/external thoughts kick in. You are thinking about a job/money, a house, a car, and a girl friend. Then you realize you been playing the same game for 6 years and all of a sudden you just have to give up the temptation and move on with your life. I truly give you 100 percent respect Mike Sangelo if this is the reason and I was in the same boat as well. Now since I am in the military I am able to manage everything all together.

:ps: Now I have to call Rusty. up so he can order new police cars. Haha! I was dared to do it.

Best Friend,

TinMan
