An Idea
« on: June 21, 2009, 22:33:06 pm »
To organise ARPD better should be split into divisions. For example A group of officers Serve LS, Some SF, some LV ect.

The reason I say this is that way we can manage Every cities policing needs, I'll let you have your input.

sounds like old days, where all PD had its own chief,
i never had that times, so i dont know if it worked good

but if i think of it, i would say good
main places get there own chief, with an amount of ppl

means he has less ppl to organise and train, which can bring better talking

other side is that SF/LV are by far not as active as LS, so those divisions will mainly be in LS
that will happen always, the other city division will mainly be in LS also

but even in that case its usefull, since 1 chief can organise his group better,
instead of having to do 100 cops, he has 30-40 cops

It's bad idea, sorry to say that Mike.
When I was captain there was an idea to take it back, to make departaments back, but thankfully command staff decided not to return it..

We had really many arguments to discuss about such idea, we've found it's pluses and minuses. There were much more negative ones :)

As so far the only one here who was alive and well during the times of the different divisions I can give you a little break-down of it. There were four divisions, LSPD, DPD, LVPD, and SFPD in order of highest population to lowest. The idea is a great one to be honest, it's just that before practically everyone was in LSPD/DPD. A few such as cb were stationed in the less populated divisions (SFPD), but it ended up having to be a co-op thing with LSPD. Eventually the leaders realized this and created the SAPD, one big unit. I feel now though, that it would be a bit more divided as in San Fierro there is Gvardia, LSPD normally populated, and LVPD being the lowest on police population. I mean if there's enough support from all the law enforcement (including freecops who use the ARPD forum!!) there might be a way to work out something so certain people can group up and patrol different cities, but I'm most certain that an official dividend of the SAPD won't happen.

I was alive then. It was cool, but cooperation and inter-department working was a nightmare. Even as a freecop, it was complete hell trying to go between departments.

Yup, indeed it was, the main problem was that it was official, and due to that if you were in one department you were not allowed to enter the other jurisdiction. I'm really considering possibly starting something like this..

the thing would be more in pointing a group of cops to 1 City Chief,
so this Chief can organise this whole group
so you have 2 groups SF/LS would be the best due activity
with each half of the cops

easier to organise for the Chiefs, more patrolling in SF,
cooperation needed between the both divisions,
like LS units cant just patrol in SF, only when back up is requested
and SF dont patrol in LS, unless back up, or lack of cops there

It used to be like that ... It is not a good idea, cause if you go over boarders, you are SAPD not LSPD or SFPD for exemple

I was playing here for 2 months back at the Summer 2007, and when i wanted to apply for SAPD, i noticed that 85% of the applicants wanted to apply for LS....

also logic, LS is the most active place, with the most crimes of SA,
therefore more units are needed

The thing is that if something like this would happen again, it would NOT be so you are forced to stay within boundries. You would be part of the SAPD, yet under certain restrictions as a sub-SFPD or sub-LSPD officer; so your main goal would be to patrol (and only patrol) your sub-area.
