To stop ARPD from shooting suspects on sight
« on: May 21, 2010, 21:00:07 pm »
I believe there needs to be a standoff more, between suspects firing on police and police firing on suspect automatically. The aggression on both parties is pretty high which is what I believe leads to a LOT of moaning on both sides.

we could have a new rule on firepower/firearms i got an idea
Rule: Do not fire your weapons unless on the following conditions
Your life is in danger or the life of another person is in danger
The suspect is holding a gun
The suspect is firing his weapon at you
The suspect is fleeing in A CaR
these are some suggestions because if a suspect is running a way from you ( not in a car) but on foot you should not use your guns you should sprint to him bunny hop if you ahve to when you get clsoe spray him with a can full of spray

I shoot suspects when they don't RP, and thats fine because I don't have to RP either.

- Using a Pay N Spray.
- Stealing a Parked Car.
- Swimming out to Sea.

Even at gunpoint and surrounded by Cops, suspects will try to flee and won't surrender until they've been shot and near death.

Seriously, this pisses me off SO MUCH.

Today, chillin' as suspect, a car full of cops, without any warning whatsoever, BOOM BANG, they take combats and shit and start shooting. We killed them, but they regrouped and I just /q'ed out of rage cuz I was so pissed they WOULDN'T rp, they just shot, they want their money even though it's not a lot.

I wonder how many people will say stop moaning, well ya know what? I AM MOANING.

Thank you,

Pepito.

You have criminals who will fire instantly at cops, you have cops who will fire instantly at suspects. No, we can't differ ''who is likely to use /me'' from who is not. Either the criminals take the first step or we will have to remain agressive.

I usually roleplay attaching the cuffs before he even /gu.

* Almeida attempts to tackle the suspect down on the ground.
/em success/fail?
* Almeida reaches for his pare of cuffs and attempts to cuff the suspect.
/em success/fail?

I only ever shoot a suspect if he is shooting or if it is through RP (such as shooting his leg for some reason  )

I also do attempt tackle, but MOST of the people refuse to RP with, and just keep running, bunnyhopping, zigzag running, Hey, I know it's allowed.
And "we" (someone who can RP) tired of it, so we just shoot them.
But firstly, I'll try to RP first

The thing is, a lot of suspects say they want to surrender. And as soon as we type something, it's 'BAM BAM! Combat to the face'.
So, want change? Start with yourself, criminals.

Agreed, many suspects do /hail and not /gu, so while we are typing something, he pulls out a Combat Shotgun and blows our heads up...

I think this is not making a rule process, but self-conscience, you came to argonathRPG to enjoy the server and roleplay, if you think this is cops 'n' robbers, this is not the place for you, because this server is a roleplaying server, cops are suposed to bring safety to state, this doesnt means taking down all orange dots they see, they must interact with them because he's taking a role as a cop, Not always you are jailing a criminal, sometimes, a wrong guy, that's what you need to find out.
You get duty guns to ensure safety, not to bring chaos.

If a criminal is refusing to RP, don't force him to RP, jail him instead and go after to someone decent to roleplay... remember, you need to ask first, because of complexity of SA-MP, you can never always have someone to roleplay...

You do not need S/F, Sucess or Fail to roleplay...

Two ways you can use in situations.

- Roleplay to the best extent you can, maybe this will convince the suspect in doing 'Pew Pew'.

- Make sure you've got yourself trained for such assault situations.

For e.g.

I was patrolling around in San fierro the other day, when I passed Doherty, pulling upto the Gas station, seeing a suspect with his gun out. I stepped out of my car, without drawing my weapons (as it may cause anger and a shootout). I walked upto the suspect, which had two other men with him (Non suspects). I asked him nicely to holster his weaponry and surrender to the law, he refused to, I asked him again, and he still did not follow the order, So I tried once again, to ask him to surrender. (All tries with Roleplay). Then the one of the men on his left, pulled out a weapon, both aiming weaponry at me. Then this other man who pulled upto the Gas station, said to me, 'Your in trouble now'. They both aimed at me, threatening me and counting down until they fired. I unholstered my DEAGLE, I took cover, suspected the one aiming, which was a civilian. One of the suspects had M4, and the other had a Combat, And started to fire as they fired, and took down the newly suspected subject down quickly. Then I began to take fire from the original suspect I was there for, and returned fire, using lagg shoots and taking cover, shooting him down, without any major scratches on my life. I then walked upto my PD cruiser, reporting them down, and the guy who said 'Your in trouble now', said you Roleplayed good. So no matter if you HAVE to shoot the suspect down due to lives in danger, you still try to pose good roleplay. And it'll all turn out fun, in the end.

1. Argonath Law states when you can open fire. There are 2 points:
a) When life of you or anybody is in direct danger (no matter if suspect is armed or not. He might beat civilian to death, if you see threat of anybody's life - you can open fire).
b) When suspect is evading (after warning to surrender).

2. Bunny hopping is non-RP, actually...

As opposed to running (slowly) which is somehow "more RP".

they want their money even though it's not a lot.

Completely wrong. I for one do not care about the money, I'm just very wary of criminals as I have A LOT of bad experiences with criminals pulling out combats in the middle of a roleplay. Unless you /gu, there's no way in hell I'm letting my guard down. I see a gun appear in your hands, I open fire.

I admit I'm biased: I do not trust anyone with a mafia tag as the only people who've pulled the old combat shotgun trick on me have been in mafias. I give mafia members 10 seconds to surrender or I open fire since I don't like being assraped by 5 guys with armour and M4s. If you'd have wanted to /gu, you would've done it already.
I wouldn't trust myself either as when I'm an armed criminal I ALWAYS have backup, either with me or on the way. I try to stall cops for as long as possible, then have my buddies shoot him in the back with sniper rifles from a distance.
