Extended Inactivity
« on: November 03, 2010, 20:50:17 pm »
Well real life has caught up with me and dealt me a savage blow.

My activity will be very very low for quite a while, mainly since I now have to look after my body before it gives in.

Rather recently got diagonosed as Diabetic, Type 2.

All my own fault, spending too much time in front of TV and Computer.

All I can say to you kids... keep on with exercise, cos its now too late for me, I will suffer for the rest of my life, although I can become fit again, the diabeties will never leave me.

120kg at 35 is NOT good....

I will occasionally pop in to Gta IV but its not going to be like before.

I will miss you guys, but I not going completely, I will be around, just not as much as I used to be.

I'm diabetic too since December 2003. Probably for the same reason of having a crap diet and no excersize :P

It's not gonna affect you much. I'm only diabetic for a few mins a day when I need to give myself insulin, Then it's back to sitting infront of the Computer. It'll all seem confusing at first but then you just get used to it and it becomes a part of your life like eating, sleeping, washing and insulin.

In my case its a huge change, diet, exercise etc etc etc, I got what is called type 2, meaning I have far too much suger in my blood, and that my body is rejecting some of my bodies own self produced insulin.

Its a whole lifestyle change for me

I would not wish that for my worst enemy, as I know I'll have this in the future due to my family.
It's hard, I can see it through my father :(.

Best of luck CBF, hope you adapt to the changes and keep living...

Chances will be your Doctor isn't a Diabetic, so he/she ain't gonna know EVERYTHING. :P

You can always ask me, because i'm type 2 aswell and have learned to work around what the Doctor's have said and made it easier.

GO RUNNING YOU MORON

You'll only get heavier in a gym fatboy. Although you're more useful as a big guy - people tend not to pick fights with people heavier than them.

It will be a hard change, but a good one for you CBF. Living a healthier lifestyle will get you on the path to a much happier, longer life. I wish you all the very best man. You have done an amazing job in this community, and you have been an even better friend. Don't let this unfortunate event in your life make you feel as if you are doomed to suffer. Most people with this disease find ways to better themselves from it. It will require some less-than desired changes to things you do, but nonetheless should be good for you, and shouldn't change your overall life too dramatically. If you ever need to talk, I'm always here for ya man. You have me added just about everywhere in Argo, and on MSN among other things. I'm always available if you need to get things off your chest. Do me a favor and hang in there, alright? Things will get better. Just give it time. :)
