ARPD needs to regroup
« on: April 30, 2007, 19:52:15 pm »
Yesterday an incident occured that shows a serious shortcoming in ARPD.
The President was kidnapped by two Mafia members, Artanis _Dragons and Stuart _Dragons.
While the President managed to let the kidnappers call the Chief of SFPD Police, the effort to save the President existed of only two officers. Furthermore, it seems the kidnappers are Mafia members who are trying to infiltrate in ARPD to further their criminal activities.
While the President managed to save himself when the kidnappers tried to kill him by a Government special eject device, the Presidents office is schocked in the inability to get more than two officers of ARPD to the rescue.
To prevent further terrorist activity against the President ARPD needs to organize in short time. In the near future the Presidents Office will simulate terrorist activities without notice to the ARPD in order to test their improvement of organization and skills.
If it is found that ARPD can not respond to such activity, this can have severe consequenses for the Chiefs of ARPD.

Lol, that wasn't me, but I know why you thought it was me :P. In the past week I was a target of kidnapers 9 times (!). One time jcstodds rescued me from kidnapers - yes, the kidnapers were Artanis _Dragons and Stuart _Dragons

I know who the government are, just not the hierarchy of them. I think police escorts should be involved in training.

Yeah, I was taking part to this thing. The only problem was, that in the first place we didn't have any SFPD members on duty. I contacted all available SFPD members in MSN and requested their support. This way I got two SFPD members on duty, [R*]Clooak and [R*]Dave, but the problem was that it's really hard to organize a rescue operation when you only have 2 officers online.

Also, Artanis_Dragons and Stuart_Dragons are both members of ARPD, so I don't know why the hell they were playing the kidnapper roles... It would have helped alot if these guys were taking part to the operation as ARPD members.

I also managed to get some backup from LSPD officer Hank_Rafferty and he arrived to the meeting point in Angel Pine, but after that he seemed to be AFK ...

The whole rescue operation itself seemed to be a total fiasco, mainly because of the bad quality of roleplaying of the kidnappers. First of all, they seemed to leave no chance to the police force. I would like to ask, where do they think that the whole roleplay situation will lead, if they leave no chance to do anything...

They took my weapon and police radio and took me to the victim. Though, I was wired up so I had a small transmitter in my pocket and also a transmitter button in the trunk of my civilian car, which was meant to give a signal to the backup police forces, which were standing by in Angel Pine (I, the kidnappers and the victim were at the top of Mt. Chiliad).

Well first, in the chat I typed /me feels the small transmitter in his pocket, and immediately after that Stuart_Dragons typed, that the took the transmitter away from me. I wonder how did he even know I had the whole transmitter...

Second, when I was taking the sacks of money out of the trunk of my car, I typed /me presses the transmitter button in the trunk. Right after that, without a warning, I saw Artanis_Dragons driving a car over the cliff with the President inside it...

So as a conclusion, In my opinion this operation was a big fiasco due to the lack of police units on duty and due to the criminals without skills to roleplay good...

I understand that there were just a few trained officers, but at the time there were at least 10 more cops online. I am sure that when you use the police radio to gather there could have been at least 5 cops in the rescue mission. Good chance to recruit new members and to watch out for possible cadets. Unless cops get the chance to work together they will never understand why there is ARPD.
The police force could have been standby in a chopper instead of a car, or got help from the army with a Hydra.
Yes the criminals were new, but that is the challenge. To teach people by replying to their actions in such way that they understand.
If the first transmitter is taken, the second time use presses the button without the kidnappers noticing it.
During the kidnap they never locked the car doors, forgot to tie or untie me....but as I was waiting for how the cops organized I decided not to escape but just to continue with them, teaching where they forgot.

Yes, I actually did tell officers in text-police radio, that we have a kidnap situation and asked all SFPD officers to arrive at SFPD. (though I don't remember if I typed "all ARPD officers" or "all SFPD officers").

And yes, we had Dave standing by with the police chopper.

In my experience of kidnapping, (kidnapper or rescuer) I have only once seen cops respond. Once i responded as my [ALS]Limo form...I have seen firefighters brave mountain to rescue, but never police

i think argonath pd is a cry for leadership :help: and needs some officers...So far we usually have the chief, and 2-3 cadets and an assortment of new guys/ unofficial cops.

We need some kidnapping/ hostage training, [ALS] will gladly help with that!
