you can be a criminal and a cop at the same time....

Trust me i left to go criminal and i regreted not having my officer rank afterwords.

Just go off duty and RP a Criminal, thats what i do.

Thats a pure waste of time to whoever trained you as many people has spent time to train, teach and guide you and you just give up for it without any proper reason. Now I can purely say RANDOM resignation anyways farewell its your call.

I have never had this problem, and if someone said this to me, they are not worth RPing with. Besides civilians cant /rank....
