LSPD Investigation Department
« on: August 09, 2011, 21:46:06 pm »
Dear officers.

As one of SAPD officers that give time for investigations, I think that we should create a department that will concern in investigations. That Departemnt (called I.D.) should consist of officers that know good the Laws and ARPD Rules, that will find the best solution in any case. Officers that always ask witnesses in any crime, from minor traffic rulebreaks to homicides.

Of course, we have FBI, but FBI works on big criminals and we will work on mimor crimes, showing Argonath people that the Law is not always punishing without looking the case.

With that post I would open the Investigation Department in Los Santos PD, and starting as leader of it.

I would ask the authorization from our Chiefs to use "detective" when showing badge and presenting myself. And if possible - a special rank added.

Thanks, Simon Juarez.

i think the investigation should be done by every lieutenant+, and the officers should be aware of being able to report officers, provided that they have enough evidence and they don't have to show their names.

Your idea is good indeed, but it can be avoided to simpler things.

Just add a part to the currently Academy program about how to perform an proper investigation. Actually you can't be teached so much about how to perform an investigation, most of it is comon sense. Add it to the Academy so every Officer knows how to perform an proper investigation.

There is not much to investigate about "minor cases" due to the fast-paced nature of events on the server. SADA was built to tackle such cases, but closed down because it eventually crossed into FBI's work.

So basically you're walking in and asking for script support to start an investigation division?

I investigate any time I get. There are many Punishments if they are found Guilty.

Minor Crimes - Community Service

Medium Crimes - Normal Jail

High Crimes - Mordor

It doesn't take much effort to investigate a crime, Just keep Asking Questions and then find a verdict from the witnesses and suspecting Officer(s). Remember they are Innocent till Proven in the court of Law. (Court of Law could always be a Investigation Room)

I have several variables for punishments. Serious crime I take you out into the desert and put together a firing squad. Kill someone you'll be killed aswell. Thats my outlook on it, I'll even make criminals count the boulders in Bone County, and then have an unsus for them after they're done counting..

From the script things, I would only an addition to /rank that would show that the officer is familiar with unsuspections

 As for the punishents:

Non-guilty - unsuspection (even if homicide - prooved case of self-defence)
Guilty in minor crime - a ticket
Guilty in many mijnor crimes, or not understood his crime (like repeated vandalism or constant overspeeding) - jail time 15-60
Guilty in bigger crimes - 120-180 jail time
Guilty in mass homicide, kidnapping or terrorism - Mordor.

THe problem is that few officers, specially the freecops can get the difference between intended homicide and accidentall (when someone dies under a car wheel by error, or is accidentally hurted in a shootout) - so for them "You are wanted for kill - jail. No unsuspection"..  Also, when I come for investigating, many suspects says that "I want a high-rank" just because I'm a freecop for now - but I'm pretty good with investigations, as many people said already

So a special department that will concernate not in patrols or shooting criminals, but in invstigations is needed

Every SAPD officer should know how to properly investigate a crime; in addition to knowing that every person is innocent until proven guilty.

Every officer should already have the skills to investigate, and if not, how did you get into the SAPD.

The idea is that applicants and freecops could join the I.D. too, and train themself in better investigations. Not all cops are great in shootouts, some are better in investigations or pursuits

And sometime I was called guilty by cadets, because I was wanted for killing. They did not even wanted to listen the facts, that would proove that it was an act of self-protection, that is allowed by Constitution

If an ARPD officers wants to learn, they can ride-along with SAPD officers and apply to be cadets as well. There's no need for an entire division for investigating.

If you kill someone in self-defense, you must be charged with involuntary manslaughter.

That is a nice Idea. Way better than S.A.D.A, actually.
A rewriting of the whole S.A.D.A idea would be good, including teaching investigations and doing investigations from time to time.
But of course, not hitting into any FBI case. If FBI complains about the case being theirs, just transfer it to them.
Plus, RPing a Police Detective is actually really cool

Why do you need script support? It can be easily done without it.

And you say you'll be the leader of this future division?

This group is nothing like the S.A.D.A, they were never tasked to better investigate these kinds of crimes. You put it right there, 'RP' a police detective. Easy enough right? RP it, where is the need for script support and a group?

I dont think there is need of a script support, all I said is that it would be cool to RP a detective.

Plus, its kinda hard to RP a detective wearing uniform. Most detectives go plainclothes with their badge on.
Im not demanding UC badge, or asking for it(im still cadet, no need for one).

I support teaching ARPD officers how to handle investigations and such. I see a lot of people being suspected for nothing and getting jailed/killed by those ARPD Officers.

I do not support the script support. No need for one.
