Attention!
At ease.

Let us begin. I would like to say it is my pride and joy to take this position. I see plenty of known names out here. Glad to see you here. For the ones I do not know or don’t remember about, I hope to get to know you more in the upcoming months. CBFasis used to do a very good job on the field but now it is time for me to take the flag. I am not CBFasis, I am not Pancher, I am not Ronnel, consider me for who I am, not what you want me to be, this won't work. I don't work with asskissing neither. If you want to asskiss, I will enjoy farting in your face. I am hard and some might not like me, but I am fair. If you do your job, you will be rewarded. If you mess up, you will be punished. I also remind everyone that we are a team. I don't expect the police force to be an elite corps but I expect them to start acting with the very first principle of any organization which is that any personal in uniform is directly representative of the organization. Therefore I hope every person who will come on duty will come to accomplish duties that will bring them personal pride and transmit this pride through the organization and the population. This means reforms. This means updates. This means adaptation. I do have the firm belief that every individual in this organization is willing to accomplish duties in an efficient yet fun way. I have also a strong belief in the abilities of every member to accomplish outstanding duties. As I said previously, I might be hard but I am fair and when I expect outstanding duties, I expect it from everyone, not just the command staff or the guys in blue on the first line.

To advance, you need a plan. You need to see up ahead. For that, you must go step by step. You will often hear me say: Babysteps. Meaning of this is simple and very logical. Start by the beginning and progress one step at a time. If you fail to do that, you will fall on your face. We don't want that. We don't want to see failure. We want to see success. Failure is a part of success as well and we have to learn from it. I accept mistakes, I accept failure once but I will not tolerate repeated mistakes nor will I accept constant failure. I expect the very best out of you. You are surgeons and you are here to fight a cancer, nothing less.

Now the answer to the big question: What is to come? As I said: baby steps. First will be personal to me and it will be to read and understand current ARPD regulations and structures of all servers. This will take several hours so you will of course see me browsing forums. Don't be scared, it is a necessary step. I will also attempt to contact every high ranked of every organizations to discuss with them. This will be a double starting point, first being the evaluation of the current system and second one will allow me to make a clear idea of those persons in order to take a decision. Some people will be moved around but I do not expect anyone to be fired or sent back to bottom ranks. I will only set those persons to positions that are fit their skills, shall it be temporary or permanently depending of the needs and their abilities to progress. Let us be clear: I put the past behind and I look from this moment up ahead to the future. Therefore I will not base my decisions on the perception I had of people in the past but as of their current abilities. If you fit for a position, you will be considered. Next step, from there, is to use this information to build an action plan and of course an implantation strategy. We will then watch the result and fix the little problems if any. I would want to be more accurate about everything to come and everything in my mind but at some point I also consider this is a public forum and this topic is not the place for it. There is also the fact that I must learn totally everything about this wonderful organization. I am aware of some urgent issues that need to be fixed and this will be discussed with high ranking personal. In the meantime, I encourage everyone to perform his duties the best he can. I do not promise a full rework within 24 hours, this would be impossible and unbearable. I do not expect to make a full change either but certainly I am looking into some possibly interesting venues to bring more interesting role play both in the individual experience and team experience. ARPD is a team, a whole team and a big team. When we have to speak to each others, we do. When we fail, we all fail but when we succeed, we all succeed. There is no individual bullshit here. You are part of a professional group who possess the legitimate right to the use of violence in the legitimate goal to stop criminals. For this we do posses a variety of services shall it be first response units usually called patrol officers, to tactical units to the offices of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. We also have a whole lot of personal who have different strength and weaknesses. Most of the staff being in the first response, we will need to slightly re-organize this area to distribute skills into tasks which will allow us to make a greater difference. One thing I will check with interest will be the different sub-divisions. In fact some specialized services might be created in order to cover some areas in particular. Those will not be in an optic to forbid other players from doing those tasks or to restrain the members to those tasks only but a special purpose to check in priority for such situations. In no way will those groups overtake current responsibilities belonging to other groups or official ARPD divisions.  Other persons I would like to speak to are the academy leaders or persons who are in charge of training for each organization. I require them to PM me as soon as possible.

Now that you are aware of my expectations and goals, I will tell you a bit about myself and answer questions that I have recently been asked. First thing first am I active... I am can be found either online or on msn about 10 hours a day three to five days a week. I think it’s fair enough. Which servers do I play? SA:MP and IV:MP (and minecraft I admit...). Therefore I have to rely entirely on local staff for other servers. I call local staffs admins and high ranked ARPD. If I get feedbacks from administrators about something, I will check it out of course. There is no way I can be contacted while I am in-game: False. ARPD staff can use radio if they wish to communicate, I am usually always on duty or undercover. If you need to meet me, we will meet in person. Reason why I switch PM is due to the very high amount of requests I receive, some people confusing PM with report. If you can’t catch me in-game and are administrative personal in ARPD, you will very soon have my msn. Please note: My msn is confidential for it is my real life msn as well. I therefore dislike having too many people as it get confusing real quick. Therefore if you have access to it, ask for my permission before giving it to someone else. I will post it in the upper command board for them to add me in the immediate. I have to speak to those people as soon as possible anyways. For those who are not into such dispositions but would still like to communicate with me for some reasons, you may use either my ARPD forum PM or my FBI forum PM. I would appreciate if you could leave the Argonath Forum PM to players who need assistance of a manager for administrative purposes. I will also attempt to have office time in-game so you can come and discuss matters, even if they are for role-play...After all I am still a player too and I enjoy role-play too. What else do I get? Oh yes: Jaaskaa hates me: Let us be clear – I hate everyone equally – No favouritism. I don’t grant favours, I grant permissions due to necessity. So comments as: Jaaskaa prefer FBI, Jaaskaa hate SWAT are partially false. I hate everyone equally. Other I get is: You are rude. Not false. I say what has to be said. If I must raise the tone for one to understand, I am not afraid to do so. I am not afraid to take punitive actions. Respect of hierarchy is also something that does strongly matter. I am open to opinions but I am not open to disrespect or inappropriate comments. If you have a problem with me, suck it up inside and keep doing your job or quit. Those are the only options. Not negotiable. People who take a bossy attitude toward higher ranking will end up walking the plank. I am strict on this. Discipline is to be enforced at this aspect. I don’t expect stuck up situations but I expect any lack of respect to be severely punished. So watch your tone and watch your words. Here we mean what we say. If I make a mistake, I am not afraid to apologize neither. I expect people who make mistakes to apologize as well and not commit this mistake again. I also often get told my punishments are severe. It is true and the purpose of such is to give a clear and definitive lesson to a person who commits a rule break. Other thing I heard often was I am serious and never make jokes. This is not accurate. I do not make jokes with people I am not familiar with as by experience jokes can often be misinterpreted when you are not aware of the intentions of the other person. There are also rumours about the fact I do not punish my staff. That is false as hell. Yet I always attempt to investigate facts entirely and find the source of the complaint, it often turns out there have been factors which made an event result with this outcome and no other possible outcomes. On the other hand, I am also ready to forgive a small mistake when it happens if the person did not commit it with the intention of doing any wrong. People who mess around on purpose don’t last very long under my command nor do people who clearly act abusively. I am hard but I am fair. I take my job seriously. You will learn to like this and respect this. At some point, you might even turn like this. At this point, you will understand me and will feel totally at ease with me. Meanwhile do your job properly and you won’t have problem. This is not a warning, this is reality, this is information that I ask you to absorb to avoid bad surprises. As you see and might have heard about I am someone who writes a lot. I do not like speaking but writing is a great communication mean in my opinion. Therefore you will rarely see me on team speak. But beware! I am in close contact with Team Speak administration. I will take their information as true. As you can see, I am not an old sweet grandma or grandpa. I have often worked with some of you. Some know me a bit more. For those, you know what to expect. For the others, you will learn. I am not the only one who is going to work either. You will work too. You will have to re-learn some things, you will have to change some habits and change the way you play to adjust to new requirements. Some things will change, some will stay as they are, some changes will happen at some levels that will not touch you. I will make sure everyone gets the information prior to a change that will affect them. I am aware some of those changes will not please everyone. I am not here to please but to make this as effective as possible. I will not limit players but will in fact bring more depth and more organization into the ARPD.

[Long post]

It appears that you have clear goals to improve ARPD as a whole which is exactly what Argonath needs. It will be nice to see what is waiting around the corner.

Congratulations Jaaskaa. I look forward to working with you on multiple levels, both as MTA:VC VCPD Chief, and as ARFD Commissioner. I'm so happy to see someone who knows ARPD well now running this organization. Knowing your knowledge and experience, as well as your roleplaying and administration skills, on top of your vast knowledge of Argo's history...I couldn't think of anyone better. CBFasi would be proud of the choice made, I bet anything on that. There are very few both willing and capable to take on such a role and still be successful at it. I can't wait to see you in the field Commissioner!

* Chief J. Schappell salutes the new Commissioner happily.

A leader understanding that we are a game

Attention!

This change is supposed to be a positive. Don't post provoking comments against anyone. If you don't agree with someone's leadership, politely take it up with Jaaskaa via PM with evidence as to why. There is no reason to pick fights in this topic.
