I can see both the pro's and con's of what happened...I can see why the decisions may have been made.

If anything the good officers who were demoted will now stand out even more if they are outshining those who were promoted?  ;)

Call me apathetic, but I can't be bothered to read through 9 pages of topic which I know would be full of players' whining and b*tching about the recent changes, so I will just post directly... I apologize in advance for my rather brutally frank approach, but this is the best way to get my observations across without diluting them with irrelevant elements.

If someone chooses to perceive it as a simple personal insult (which it is not actually intended as), then that is no longer any of my concern.

After what I've read and what has gotten to me, after hearing about the recent turn of events, I nearly laughed my ass off. Why laughed, you may ask?

Here's why; the fact that many individuals resigned after their boss executed a series of necessary changes (and to add to the aforementioned irony, placing themselves directly under the command of the person that made them resign) shows that they possess a very poor work ethic. In real life, let's say you resigned simply because you don't like what your company division's manager did, before you know it you'd end up jobless and no better than the hobos on the streets. It may come sooner or later, but with such a bullshit set of values, it will come. I can only hope that the smarter young officers we have do not make an example of such pitiful acts of desperation.

Of course, what happens in their real lives is none of our concern, but it amuses me nonetheless as to how much stupidity certain people allow to govern their decisions to the point of throwing themselves into shit holes simply because they cannot handle a few changes made by their boss. Face it, you will always disagree with someone at one point... if simple resignation is your preferred method of handling such disagreement then you are indeed an object of pity.

One thing those Officers (especially those who chose to remain rogue) forgot is that SAPD is not a care-bears family that is here to spoon-feed you and make sure you are feeling as happy as a kid in a candy store, it's a f*cking Police Department with a chain of command. As Jaaskaa iterated in his appointment speech, if you don't like how things are then you are free to leave, for good. The military is capable of operating globally because they follow up on their progress, not their feelings.

Now some people (particularly those with small, closed minds) who read my post would conclude that I asslick Jaaskaa... if such is your conclusion then all the more I must question your mental capacity as someone who lacks the capability to differentiate between asslick and genuine respect. For years, I've worked under (and alongside) Jaaskaa (and Chase), supported their decisions, and agreed to disagree with them as well. Additionally, I already hold enough high posts... why would I need to asslick anyone?

I've personally seen what they are capable of, and after years of ethical stagnation, finally pleased to see real reform taking place in SAPD at all levels. If you cannot handle progress, then as CBFasi would put it: tough shit.

To the Officers who were promoted, congrats.

To the Officers who were demoted but haven't resigned, good choice. You still have a chance to take back what you've lost.

To the Officers who were demoted and already filed their resignation papers, are you guys sure that you want to throw away all that you've done for SAPD?

Oh yes? You're now barking about that because you weren't touched, im sure if you were demoted back to officer, i'd like to see how you would react, when you work hard and then you get a big FU from your commanders. If i was put in such a situation, i would resign as well.

I have experience promoting and demoting people... the only reason a hardworking person would receive a valid demotion would be because their performance failed to meet a standard.

If you had the same knowledge about the person in charge as I do, you would eat your words.

Continuing this pointless argue is just waste of time, Jaaskaa is the ARPD Commissioner set by Gandalf, therefore he was chosen to make changes/plans as he decides it fits. You don't like them, well you can purely follow like some people did and resign, but don't start bullshitting after that, you weren't a man enough to say anything while you had something to lose.
Obviously you know there will be more changes coming sooner or later, if you think you are able to trust Jaaskaa and stand behind his decisions, then stay but without constantly shitting around about it.
If other people on another side don't like the decisions, they can leave and receive proper respect for their work, but starting to bullshit after you resign won't bring you a single respect.
I advise you if you relay truly want to make the best you can in SAPD, then stay, fight and make the best out of these decisions, because they will happen even if we do/don't like them, the only thing we can do is to make the best out of them.

And Max you tend to constantly have something to say against SAPD, yet you never made it in SAPD as a officer. I don't know from where you get these "facts" of yours, but better get them straight before talking.

Just an addition to Max, you are a good friend but I accepted you in the SAPD twice and you left like twice aswell. I would not really use yourself as an example, cause you already lack in showing loyalty <3.

Oh look, my balls are bigger than yours! Seeing as this is about egos... ;)

Anyway, if you're doing your job right then you shouldn't be dissuaded by a demotion...clearly a demotion in that case would be a test...or preparation for RS5!
