Law Enforcement Status Update
« on: June 14, 2013, 17:38:09 pm »
For those who have not become aware I have taken over the role of ARPD Commissioner.

This role means I oversee all ARPD groups across each of the servers that Argonath operates.

I am requesting a situation report from Law Enforcement groups with this server so I may understand how well things are progressing and if you need my assistance.

As I do not have access to your server personally I will have to trust those that keep me informed.  This means that if the command staff do NOT keep me informed they might find themselves with a few problems as I do have backing from server leadership to carry out required actions.
Also if I am falsely informed the repercussions will also be serious.

I look forward to being informed acurately.

VCPD is using is resources as much as they can, VC:MP's population is not big, therefor not much units are needed either. Somewhere around 4 VCPD members are online daily accompanied by other ARPD officers.

Fixed.

Very little VCPD members are online throughout the year, and new ones aren't getting accepted in any period of time (cadet is for training, right?).

VCPD will stay inactive as long as new members who apply aren't accepted, but applications kept open longer than for administrative duties.
Nigga you flip sides so much you might aswell be a f**king pancake; one week you're in a crime family, then the next one you apply for VCPD.
Untrustworthy, unhelpful, and simply quite a pain..

We are trying as much as we can. The current server activity is really low as well and I believe that's the main cause of VCPD's inactivity. Applications are kept open for a longer period of time because this is an official Argonath group and we cannot just accept everyone who applies in matter of seconds. Also, I personally wait for at least five people to share their opinion on an application to either accept or deny it.

Cadets are being trained frequently as well. We've had a suggestion inside the department to accept applications faster, but someone mentioned that people would not feel nice if we just accept them right over, and then reject them after giving out the cadet rank.

I admit, VCPD is not the most active group on the server, with very few members ( some VCPD members and applicants ) online. But we should wait for the summer holiday to begin, since some of the members/applicants are busy with school or work.

Would you prefer every newbie getting accepted? Or a proffesional departament?

Forget the excuses, if EAF can manage to stay active so can VCPD.

Do you consider activity over quality?

Unlike other organisations (we're not a group or a clan) VCPD has shown that it can sustain itself and has contributed positively towards the VC:MP community.

We could accept all sorts of people, sure, but very few of these would help in the long term. We're not some 'group' which goes around picking up a bunch of punishments or overall disapproval from everyone else in Argonath. The people that try to do their part are those that are genuine and do what they do because they enjoy it, not because they are forced into it or to make up some false statement about them.

Many people who can or are responsible for developing organisations like the VCPD are not really up to the job, they've proven time and time again. If you're constantly irresponsible and causing a lot of grief to others you're undeserving.

CBF, as he has done elsewhere, was just introducing himself. Sure, it may be a bit stern, but he must be here for the right reasons.
On behalf of the whole VCPD welcome back to the position CBF, we hope to get in contact with you soon.

We have high levels of both activity and quality.

About VCPD, I wasn't implying you should accept everyone, you should grab them as cadets more often and train them. Most cops turn away from joining VCPD because the application system is just way too long and they do NOT get training in the meanwhile.

I've probably trained more VCPD members and "freecops" in the server than whole VCPD combined.. :(

I have seen the application process become easier and easier. Unlike in the past, there are now dedicated people to help you through every step of the way and they do it pretty much voluntarily (to a point) on top of their main tasks.

When I say 'easy', it's easy for those that want to get in. :)
If you really want it, you can get it. We're very, very proud on bringing in new people. In the past few years alone we've given out ranks to over 100 different individuals.
From a personal point of view, these new guys are the future of the community. I don't get them to work for me, I get them to work for everyone that actually contributes in a good way to VC:MP. They do it because they enjoy doing it, and the people that merely do little more than annoy, frustrate and ruin other people's experience get what they deserve.

As for activity-quality argument, everyone knows what's up.

To those who insist to find it funny re-adding their flaming and provocative posts, rulebreaking is not allowed here. Don't think I won't continue to remove the attacks should you continue them. I'm online much more often than you are.

It is clear from what I have seen, and not seeing left in topic that there is a problem with VCPD ..

Topic is now locked as I do not believe anything more constructive can be added and the topic has served its purpose.
